| “Felix Austria” at the exhibitions in Nuremberg With around 30,000 exhibitors, 1.4 million visitors and turnover of around 230 million Euro, the NürnbergMesse Group is one of the 15 leading exhibition companies in the world. Austria performs a significant function in this context: in 2014, around 18, 000 trade visitors alone (corresponding to 7.9 percent) and approx. 600 companies (corresponding to 5.6 percent) came as exhibitors from the Alpine Republic to the exhibition centre Nuremberg. Austria is thus one of the leading front players, occupied 2nd place last year among the foreign trade visitors and is in 6th place in terms of the international exhibitors. To ensure that this remains the case – if possible extending this status even further – NürnbergMesse is now founding a branch office in Vienna. The Managing Director is Inge Tremmel. For Peter Ottmann and Dr. Roland Fleck, CEOs of NürnbergMesse, this is a consistent step: "The economic power of Austria, our exhibition portfolio tailored to quality and the regional proximity are the best prerequisites for closer cooperation. The branch office in Vienna is a key component here." Photo caption: The two CEOs of the NürnbergMesse Group, Peter Ottmann (r) and Dr. Roland Fleck (l), are delighted, along with Inge Tremmel, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse's Austria branch office, with the start of the newly-founded marketing company. For years it has been known as "Felix Austria" in Nuremberg, because the figures for Austrian exhibitors and visitors have developed very impressively at the exhibition centre Nuremberg. For Peter Ottmann und Dr. Roland Fleck, this is in particularly also down to the services of Kurt G. Regenscheidt, long-serving representative of NürnbergMesse in Austria, who in future will be devoting himself to other projects: "Regardless of whether it is BIOFACH, HOLZ-HANDWERK or other events and exhibitions – we can always rely on the customers from Austria. This is also due to the committed involvement of Kurt Regenscheidt, who is a bridge-builder between Austria and Nuremberg in the best sense of the word." In order to be even closer to the customer in future, NürnbergMesse has decided to open its own branch office on site. The Managing Director of NürnbergMesse Austria is Inge Tremmel, who will be active on the Austrian market with her team operating from Vienna. "Our main task remains the placement of exhibitors and visitors. In this connection, our focus clearly lies on events in Nuremberg. In keeping with the company strategy, we of course also advise our customers on events held by our international subsidiaries in Brazil, China, India and North America", said Inge Tremmel during the press conference at the Palais Coburg in Vienna. In addition to addressing exhibitors and visitors for the events, NürnbergMesse Austria does however also provide support in all questions relating to NürnbergMesse fairs and exhibitions. Austria – a strong trade partner Comparable economic standards, a joint cultural understanding along with direct flight and rail connections between Vienna and Nuremberg are the best pre-requisites for conducting trade on a joint basis. The example of NürnbergMesse represents "pars pro toto" (one part of the overall) good relations between both countries. Germany is even the most important trade partner for Austria. According to figures from the German Chamber of Foreign Trade, in 2014 the Alpine Republic obtained 37 percent of its imported goods from its northern neighbour. Vice versa, 30 percent of Austrian exports went to Germany. On this stable basis finding further intersecting areas between Austrian companies and NürnbergMesse is expected to be the core task of the new branch office in Vienna.
