| European Coatings Show and Congress 2015: Countdown under way for the industry highlight For decision-makers in the paints and coatings industry, engineers and laboratory technicians, the European Coatings SHOW from 21 to 23 April is a fixed date. Over 1,000 exhibitors from all over the world will be presenting raw materials for the manufacture of innovative coatings and printing inks along with the associated laboratory, production, testing and measuring technology. In addition, trade visitors will find adhesive raw materials plus preproducts for construction chemicals. Along with the European Coatings CONGRESS, taking place on 20 and 21 April, the world's largest specialist show for the industry provides an opportunity to discuss the latest advances and to develop ideas for the future of coatings. Visitors can now register for the European Coatings SHOW, and interested parties can reserve their Congress ticket online until 10 April. Around two thirds of the registered exhibitors are making their expertise and materials available in the area of coatings raw materials, and nearly half offer printing ink raw materials. The third-largest exhibition segment is the adhesives raw materials sector. One in three exhibitors is presenting preproducts for construction chemicals, and one in five is showing laboratory and production technology. Many of the exhibitors cover several areas at once. "The European Coatings SHOW is thus presenting the entire process chain for the manufacturing paints and coatings. Practically all market leaders from the individual segments are represented at the European Coatings SHOW", says Alexander Mattausch, Director Exhibitions at NürnbergMesse. Companies exhibiting include BASF, Bayer, Evonik, Bühler, Neztsch, Niemann and Ystral. Young, innovative companies at the European Coatings SHOW The European Coatings SHOW also highlights small companies: Young, innovative companies based Germany, with fewer than 50 employees and annual accounts totals or annual sales revenues not exceeding €10 million will be attracting maximum attention on the subsidised "Young, innovative companies" shared stand. Innovation SLAM: Battle of the innovations At the Innovation SLAM, famous exhibitors will be meeting for the first time in a real boxing ring: They will be competing to win over the public with the best product innovation. The winner will be presented with the ECS Innovation AWARD as the trophy. Amusing entertainment and powerful arguments are guaranteed here. The Innovation SLAM will take place on stand 4-360 on Wednesday, 22 April, at 2.30 p.m. Tips on preparing for the show The EC SHOW Navigator is the ideal preparation for a visit to the trade show. Along with a complete list of exhibitors, the online tool provides plenty of information on the companies participating in the show, and on the products, plus a search function. At the trade show itself, EC SHOW Daily will also be providing interactive information about the highlights of the show and congress. App to help plan your visit Would you like to find exhibitors with a single click when you're on the go? European Coatings CONGRESS: Trends and tailor-made expertise The leading congress for the paints and coatings industry is once again demonstrating its leading position as a meeting place for the industry. In 24 sessions with a total of 144 presentations, well-known speakers will provide answers to fundamental questions and expertise precisely tailored to challenges from all areas of the coatings world. The CONGRESS starts on 20 April 2015 with the session "Science today – coatings tomorrow", which will present the latest developments in fundamental research. Professors from all over the world will show what concepts are already emerging today in the laboratories for the coatings industry of the future. One of the trends, sustainable products, will be featured in the session on "Biobased Coatings", where international experts will present, among other things, new developments concerning water-based natural resin emulsions or biobased polyols which set new standards for polyurethane coatings. Two sessions are devoted to the topic of construction chemicals. Here, delegates can learn, for example, how environmentally friendly formulae offer advantages when it comes to resistance and what research results make safe, environmentally sound PU resins possible. Specific specialist information on adhesives and sealants is provided in two further sessions, with CO2-based polyols and cellulose as a functional additive on the agenda. A further talk will explain what regulations are applicable for plant and machinery coatings in the food industry. In other sessions, experts will focus on topics such as dye pigments, surfactants, functional and water-based coatings, printing inks, powder coatings and radiation-curing coatings, applications of TiO2, testing and measuring methods, antimicrobial coatings and the use of nanoparticles. Plenary Session and European Coatings AWARD High points of the European Coatings CONGRESS will include the Plenary Session. Professor Rolf Mülhaupt, Freiburg Materials Research Centre FMF, University of Freiburg, will be explaining the potential of recyclable substances and carbon dioxide fixing for sustainable coating solutions. The winner of the European Coatings AWARD will also be announced in the Plenary Session. The prestigious prize is given in recognition of the best scientific congress submission. The Plenary Session will be broadcast live online on the European Coatings CONGRESS website. Pre-congress tutorials prepare for the Congress The pre-congress tutorials on the day before have proved to be the ideal preparation for the Congress. On 19 April 2015, experts will be providing additional information about fundamental questions here. Focus on networks After the pre-congress tutorials, there will be an opportunity on Sunday evening for relaxed discussions in the traditional restaurant Bratwurst Röslein. Delegates will be able to chat as they enjoy local specialities here, or at the after work reception after the congress programme on 20 April. write your comments about the article :: © 2015 Exhibition News :: home page |
