TerraTec und enertec 2015: International event that starts the year for the energy and environment industry

The unique combination of enertec and TerraTec is a good platform for comprehensively highlighting efficient and sustainable supply and disposal solutions. When the Leipziger Messe opens its doors from January 27 to 29, 2015, the two trade fairs will start off the event year as an important international platform for the energy and environment industry. With its focus on the markets in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe and in the Commonwealth of Independent States, the trade fair duo offers a wide variety of opportunities for exchanging information and experience as well as new transactions. In addition to that, the largest international cooperation exchange for energy and environmental technology in Germany, the Green Ventures, will also take place during both trade fairs again in 2015. With their international components and the wide variety of highlights in the supporting program, TerraTec and enertec guarantee that conversations and the information exchanged are of high quality.

"Like other industries, the environment and energy industry have to deal with the constant changes taking place on the marketplace. In light of the energy turnaround taking place in Germany, questions relating to supply security, energy efficiency, flexibility, cost reduction and resource conservation call for specific answers, " says Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe, and adds: "The TerraTec and enertec focus on and incorporate these complex issues in their program with key forward-looking topics in 2015 and thanks to their close association offer an optimum presentation platform for the corresponding technologies and services."

TerraTec: Solutions for all facets of the environment industry

Focal points of TerraTec 2015 include forward-looking solutions for water, raw materials and recycling management and – due among other things to extreme weather phenomena such as flooding, heavy rains or hailstorms – relevant aspects for adapting to climate change. The patron of the TerraTec is Germany's Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB). "The TerraTec is the only international trade fair focusing on all aspects of environmental technologies and services and to be held in Germany in 2015. That is why the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety is happy to serve as patron of this industry platform once again, " explains Franzjosef Schafhausen, Department Head of Climate Protection Policy; Europe and International in BMUB and adds: "The topics of the TerraTec and the parallel enertec include technologies for climate protection, resource conservation and energy efficiency: Solutions for water, raw materials and recycling management make a significant contribution in this regard and offer at the same time opportunities for German companies to demonstrate their economic strength and innovativeness. The construction industry plays a major role in this context. Be it by implementing energy-saving building methods or construction measures for adapting to climate change."

The three central topics of the TerraTec are "recycling-oriented waste management and sustainable feedstock management, " "future-oriented water management" and "regional adaptation to climate change". For instance, in the waste/recycling exhibition area, TerraTec highlights solutions for waste and recycling materials logistics, systems, and services for recycling and utilization for energy purposes as well as addresses resource and materials recovery as well as efficient use. In the water and wastewater segment, it presents innovative ideas for maintaining and restructuring water management infrastructures, for decentralized wastewater treatment and methods for utilizing wastewater as source of energy and raw materials. The TerraTec's conceptual sponsors are the BDZ - Training and Demonstration Center for Decentralized Wastewater Processing, DGAW - German Association for Waste Management and LVR - Saxony's Recycling Industry Association. All partners are involved in the comprehensive specialized program.

enertec focuses on forward-looking energy infrastructure

Focal points of the enertec 2015 include flexible energy systems and energy efficiency. Particular attention is placed on decentralized energy generation, also in combination with modern centralized solutions. An aspect that is gaining significance as a result of the energy turnaround. The enertec - International Trade Fair for the Generation, Distribution and Storage of Energy presents the latest technologies and innovative services for an efficient and future-oriented energy infrastructure.

With the three central topics "Flexible energy systems, " "Energy efficiency: Optimizing energy consumption" and "Energy market: Offers, challenges, development", the enertec focuses on the entire energy process chain. Conceptual sponsors are the VIK - Association of Industrial Energy and Power Industry and B.KWK – Germany´s Federal Association for Cogeneration. "enertec is the ideal platform for presenting innovations of the cogeneration industry. The trade fair focuses on the technical and economic possibilities of combined heat and power production. As a result, the enertec is an important venue for cogeneration and appeals to customers in Germany and Central Europe. The exhibition, knowledgeable presentations and possibility for intensive dialog at the trade fair stands make the enertec a highlight in 2015 for companies active in this innovative energy sector, " explains Berthold Müller-Urlaub, President of B.KWK.

The patron of the enertec is Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. Thematic partner is BME - German Association for Materials Management, Purchasing and Logistics, which with its special purchasing day event provides another highlight for the enertec. "The deregulation of the energy markets and especially the ongoing energy turnaround have resulted in significant changes for companies. New procurement models, increasing cost pressure, ever-changing statutory conditions, sustainability mandates and energy efficiency endeavors ensure that energy procurement will become a strategic component. To support and drive this development, experts from a variety of sectors will meet and discuss during the BME's purchasing day to be held at the enertec 2015 the current best practices and future challenges in order to be able to jointly secure the energy turnaround and Germany as an industrial location, " says Matthias Berg, Head of Specialized Sections at BME.

Trade fair combination with international resonance

The international audience of enertec and TerraTec includes, for instance, representatives from industry and business, consulting engineers, municipalities, real estate industry, public agencies and administration, plant operators as well as supply and disposal companies. The high professional level of visitors is regarded as a key quality feature of the trade fair combination.

An international highlight during the enertec and TerraTec are the 18th "Green Ventures". Participants will have an opportunity here to conduct bilateral discussions with companies from Germany and other countries. The largest international cooperation exchange for energy and environmental technology companies in Germany drew more than 200 participants from 40 different countries to the Leipzig fairgrounds in 2013. The Green Ventures 2015 will be conducted with the support of Saxony's State Ministry of Environment and Agriculture. Organizer of the international partnership forum is the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Potsdam). "More than 4, 500 companies from 115 countries took part in Green Ventures during the past years. The benefit for trade fair and forum is mutual. The trade fair profits from the Green Ventures' high international character and the forum becomes more evident at the same time, " explains Torsten Stehr, Department Head Regional Economic Policy / Innovation / Environment Projects at the IHK Potsdam and adds: "Between 30 and 40 nations participate every year in the organized cooperation exchange. The partner nation of Green Ventures 2015 – the year, in which it marks 50 years of diplomatic relations – is Israel. The Green Ventures focus on the sectors water, soil, air pollution control, waste management and recycling as well as energy and construction."

Comprehensive and diverse specialized program

The specialized program of enertec and TerraTec covers a wide variety of high quality events and presentations on key current topics. The "enertec dezentral" forum addresses diverse aspects of decentralized energy supply and bioenergy as additional focal point. The "Innovation Forum" of the enertec and TerraTec represents another platform for exhibitors and institutions to provide visitors with information with regard to specialized topics covering the entire range of energy and environmental technology. Many partners supplement the range of information with their own presentations including high quality, parallel seminars and specialized events in the Congress Center Leipzig.

In 2013, the trade fair combination attracted altogether approx. 10,900 visitors to Leipzig's exhibition center.
