| 'Personal Accessories' section at Ambiente continues to grow Accessories are the icing on the cake for every outfit. Be it a trendy bag or fashionable scarf, a stylish belt or a natty pair of sunglasses – some 250 exhibitors will be showcasing fashion accessories for any and every look at Ambiente in Frankfurt am Main, from 13 to 17 February 2015. "Accessories are currently hugely important in the fashion world and that is reflected at Ambiente, too. Buyers can get a comprehensive overview of the latest accessory collections, not only for their core ranges, but as supplementary ones too, " says Yvonne Engelmann, Director of 'Giving' at Ambiente. "Fashion accessories are specifically not just an interesting proposition for fashion and lifestyle retailers; they are increasingly being used as supplementary ranges in jewellery shops, furnishing outlets, concept stores and by specialist glass, porcelain and ceramics retailers." No wonder, as these attractive extras are currently simply indispensable; we just have to look on the train, in the playground or in the theatre – everywhere we go, we see that hair adornments are, and continue to be, one of the latest trends in accessories. Hair slides, bands and ribbons, sometimes plain, sometimes decorated with rhinestones and flowers, now adorn the heads of the fashion-conscious. In the spring and summer, flowers and floral patterns will be setting playful, romantic accents – and, indeed, from head to foot. The more courageous may well risk a single large bloom, thus transforming an elegant, plaited hairstyle or ballerina's bun into an irresistibly eye-catching feature. Amongst the absolute must-haves for spring and summer 2015 are the large shawls and headscarves in lightweight cotton. Along with the lace decoration, there is no let-up in the use of large floral patterns. In general, it is printed patterns that dominate: geometrical and ethnic designs are very much in vogue, as are animal motifs and polka dots. Particularly striking is the trend towards very light, soft, pastel tones such as light pink, dove blue and mint – often blending in with one another at the boundaries. Scarves are also coming to play an increasingly important role. They tend to keep to subdued colours such as grey, blue and white, with geometrical prints or just plain. Moreover, neckerchiefs and infinity scarves are now just as indispensable a part of a man's wardrobe too. No new outfit is complete without the right handbag. For 2015, 'extreme' is the hot commodity: mini or maxi. Whilst XXL bags and shoppers continue to be well on trend, new collections show an increased adherence, once again, to the smaller handbag, such as the clutch bag for evening wear. Unusual materials, fringes and fur details are high on the list for spring and summer. And designers have not stinted themselves when it comes to colours, either. Bags in the new collections cover the entire colour palette. Ahead of all the rest are blue and mint shades, as well as various berry tones. For the evening, things are set to get a little more elegant – this is where clutch bags offer a reliably stylish alternative. Sequins and rhinestones provide a suitable level of glamour. Bright, gleaming colours are also popular when it comes to purses, too. At the same time, the purses themselves continue to be very large and provide masses of space for cards and important items of all kinds. Those who like things to be a bit more compact are best served by the ultra-small card cases. Hardly larger than a credit card, these slim cases provide enough room for a good many chip-and-pin cards and banknotes. Manufactured in aluminium, they also offer protection against the demagnetisation of the credit cards. There is now an appropriate fashionable outfit for all those everyday items that are always with us like the iPhone, iPad or laptop. Either in high-quality leather or in a felt case in garish, trendy colours; or perhaps a practical waterproof version in high-tech material with a modern trendy design. The technology we use every day is not only supposed to be well protected, but should also look good as we travel around and underline our personal fashion statement. Maximum flexibility in the smallest space – this maxim is particularly relevant to all of the world's globetrotters and frequent fliers. People who are constantly travelling around need luggage that is suitable for all eventualities, is light in weight and is as easy to deal with as possible. Four-wheel trolleys are, therefore, currently in the ascendency and are available in all conceivable colours. The days when the colour palette for suitcases ranged from grey to black are long gone. Even the traditional black suitcase now appears these days with one or other colour accent - in the form of zips in striking colours, for instance. New too, are the more feminine versions of the traditional business trolley. A casual bag is usually enough of a holster for the needs of the modern 'asphalt cowboy'. It is either buckled over the shoulder or at the hip and contains everything one needs for everyday life in the big city. All these up-to-the-minute fashions in accessories are to be found at Ambiente from, amongst others, suppliers such as Ahmaddy, Beadbag, Berba, Dernier, Dolphin Innovations, Flux Design, Grösserfetterbreiter, Häusser United Brands with their Funbag and Wenger labels – Swissgear, Henrique Ferreira Pais with their 'love cork' brand, Lässig, Noi Home + Fashion, Prodis Design, The Moshi, Urbantool, Voi Leather Design, Volker Lang and Zwei.
