NürnbergMesse Italia “molto bene” for five years
"L'Italia è la numero uno!" has been the case at NürnbergMesse for many years. This leading position has even been improved on by the founding of NürnbergMesse Italia. Some 1, 500 exhibitors and over 16,000 trade visitors from Italy meanwhile take part in the international trade fairs in Nürnberg – every year. Compared with ten years ago this is an increase of 30 per cent for exhibitors and 60 per cent for visitors. This means Italy is the country with the most foreign exhibitors in Nürnberg. "Italy is a tremendously important market for NürnbergMesse – the most important in Europe apart from the German market. It is therefore decisive for us to have our subsidiary here in Italy, " say the CEOs of the NürnbergMesse Group, Peter Ottmann and Dr. Roland Fleck, on the occasion of the five-year celebration in Milan.
The top 5 exhibitions at the Nürnberg exhibition centre from an Italian viewpoint are BIOFACH, Chillventa, IWA, Interzoo and Spielwarenmesse. NürnbergMesse Italia has succeeded in developing its position in the past years. In 2012, the last even year and hence a stronger year with more exhibitions due to event cycles, it achieved new records in both categories with 1,478 Italian exhibitors and 16,114 visitors from Italy. Besides its activities for exhibitions in Nürnberg, the NürnbergMesse Group's Italian subsidiary also acquires visitors and exhibitors for exhibitions organized by the international subsidiaries in Brazil, China, India and the USA.
"There is an uninterrupted interest in NürnbergMesse trade fairs here, " reports Stefania Calcaterra, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse Italia. "In the five years since our subsidiary was founded, we have succeeded in expanding our strong presence in the Italian market."
Broad spectrum attracts Italian customers
The broad spectrum of trade fairs in Nürnberg and the relatively short journey make "Norimberga" attractive for Italian firms in various sectors. Those who immediately associate the keyword Italy with wine, pasta and olive oil are not wrong: Events such as BIOFACH 2014 proved to be a real attraction for Italian exhibitors with over 300 exhibiting companies from there. In terms of visitors, however, Spielwarenmesse with over 4, 000 and the combination of fensterbau/frontale and the parallel HOLZ-HANDWERK with about 2, 500 visitors were especially popular.

With its presence in Milan, NürnbergMesse Italia makes a decisive contribution to continuing to exploit these opportunities excellently, " say Dr. Roland Fleck and Peter Ottmann, assessing the role of the subsidiary. "It is thus a permanent part of our strategy to be represented by subsidiaries in all major foreign markets."
NürnbergMesse Italia is the fourth international subsidiary of NürnbergMesse after the subsidiaries in China, North America and Brazil. NürnbergMesse also set up another promising international project last year with the launch of NürnbergMesse India.
