| Chillventa Congressing – high-calibre technical programme delivers expert know-how Preparations are in full swing as Chillventa enters its fourth round. From 14 to 16 October 2014, the exhibition halls in Nuremberg will once again play host to the international gathering of the refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and heat pump sector. "We are highly satisfied with progress for Chillventa 2014, " explains Project Manager Alexander Stein. "For the first time, we are probably going to get close to 1,000 exhibitors. This represents a fantastic endorsement of how well Chillventa has been received at the national and international level." The technical programme Chillventa Congressing will again take place the day before the trade fair, on Monday 13 October 2014, and will deliver expert know-how of the highest calibre. "There are yet more exciting challenges and opportunities in store for the refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation and heat pump technology sector, " says Dr Rainer Jakobs, coordinator of Chillventa Congressing. "The latest F-gas regulation is having a significant impact on the market. Whereas in Germany the sector is focusing on the shift to renewable energies, internationally the key issues continue to be the environment and climate protection, " says Dr Jakobs. At Chillventa Congressing, renowned international speakers will share expertise from R&D and practice and provide information about the current political frameworks in Europe and worldwide. The new event planner tool allows trade fair visitors to quickly and easily organise their customised programme. A selection of the presentations on offer "The latest development in thermal storage systems" is the title of the presentation by Dr.‐Ing. Karin Rühling from the Department for Building Energy Systems and Heat Supply at the Dresden University of Technology. In his presentation "The use of heat pumps for commercial textile drying", Matthias Reich from Miele will describe how heat pump dryers offer a new way of reducing the energy requirement and costs of drying processes. Whereas heat pump dryers have already conquered the domestic appliance market and have meanwhile almost completely supplanted conventional condensing dryers, the commercial segment is still relying on comparatively energy-hungry condenser dryers, despite the high electricity costs. In the refrigeration area, presentations include "Research findings on the use of air as refrigerant" by Dipl.‐Ing. Petra Janickova from Ipetronik and Prof Dr.-Ing. Michael Kauffeld from the University of Karlsruhe. The ASERCOM/EPEE Symposium will report on the EU's energy efficiency targets for 2030 and their significance for the industry. An overview of current activities and the status achieved in eco-design and associated market surveillance will be presented and discussed. There will also be reports on the initial impact of the recently adopted F-gas regulation on international provisions, industry and users. Heat pumps The heat pump segment will provide a global overview of current issues. As well as market trends in Europe, the USA, China and Japan, research activities in various countries and specific research findings, for example on cold climate, thermally driven and domestic hot water heat pumps will be presented. Innovation Day: Energy of the future The theme of the Innovation Day, which is part of Chillventa Congressing, is "Energy of the future – risks and opportunities for refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pumps". The platform will facilitate presentations and discussions of developments in refrigerants with low GWP, the opportunities for the sector as a result of the transition to renewables, and issues relating to energy storage technologies and waste heat utilisation. ASHRAE is again offering a course in IT Equipment Design Evolution & Data Centre Operation Optimisation, a consistently very important topic that will be presented by high-calibre specialists from the USA. It will provide insights into current developments in IT as a means of achieving maximum efficiency in the necessary cooling of data centres. During Chillventa there will also be a special presentation in Hall 7 on the theme "Energy-efficient data centres – sustainable solutions for air conditioning". write your comments about the article :: © 2014 Exhibition News :: home page |
