Paperworld 2015 to present the most creative designs

Greetings cards can offer congratulations, give pleasure and express sorrow or love. And they are all the more likely to touch the heart if they surprise the recipient with original words and creative motifs. Every year, individual cards of this kind are to be entered for the greetings-card design competition, which demonstrates the great creativity and wealth of ideas to be found in a greetings card. The competition is organised jointly by the German Association of Greetings Cards Manufacturers and Publishers (Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Hersteller und Verleger von Glückwunschkarten – A.V.G.) and Paperworld.

Focus on attractive script in 2015
The aim of the competition is to reinvent the greetings card in terms of design and context. Now, designers can give free rein to their ideas and submit their card designs. "The main judging criteria are craftsmanship, originality and presentation quality", says Matthias Hanfstingl, the A.V.G. representative for the design competition. Additionally, particular attention will be paid to the script this time. Attractive handwriting or typeface can make all the difference next year because 'Initiative Schreiben e.V.', an association to promote handwriting as a cultural asset, has joined the design competition for its 12th edition as a new cooperation partner.

Convince the jury with creative design
Designers have until 31 October 2014 to finalise and enter their new and creative ideas for a modern greetings card. In November, an independent jury of experts from industry, trade and design will scrutinise all entries and make an initial selection. "I am already looking forward to the numerous entries and the meeting of the jury. It is always very interesting and a constant source of pleasure to discuss trends, creative ideas and new designs and then make a decision", says Paperworld Director Michael Reichhold.

Paperworld visitors and Facebook users to choose their favourite greetings cards
At the international trade fair for the paper, office supplies and stationery sector in Frankfurt am Main from 31 January to 3 February 2015, the ten best ideas will be produced and put on display for trade visitors in Café Card during the fair. Paperworld visitors can then vote for their favourite card at the exhibition, which will be located in the foyer of Halls 6.1 and 5.1, i.e., in the immediate vicinity of the 'Greetings Card Hall' with its wide range of greetings cards. Additionally, Facebook users can select their favourite card from the top ten, which will then be awarded a special prize at the fair. All winners will receive attractive cash prizes and the chance to see the complete range of paper, office supplies and stationery at Paperworld and make contact with representatives of the sector.
