Intertextile Shanghai Home - Opens next week

Asia's leading home textile event Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Autumn Edition opens next week from 28 – 30 August 2012, with a 15 percent increase in the number of exhibitors from 2011. More than 1,330 exhibitors from 29 countries and regions will cover 138,000 sqm of space across 12 exhibition halls at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

The season's key attractions in the international halls are debut pavilions from Belgium and India, returning pavilions from Italy, Greece, Korea, Turkey, Pakistan, Taiwan, plus a special EU Zone. Exhibitors will showcase home textiles products in a variety of designs and price ranges. Attendees can also gain new design directions from the 2013 / 2014 International Trend Forum and the Intertextile Design Boutique display areas.

In the domestic halls, eleven regional pavilions including Yuhang, Haining, Tongxiang, Shaoxing, Pujiang, Nantong and Gaoyang will display newly-developed home textiles and related products from China. Exhibitors are also organised by product type, such as beddings and towelling, interior decoration, upholstery products, non-textile curtains and wall coverings to complement buyers' multiple sourcing needs. Special display areas including a Chinese inspired Trend Forum and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Zone will present China's latest trends in home textiles, patterns and moods.

In view of the fast-changing global markets and the continuous growing demand for quality home products in China, fair organisers have hosted a series of fringe programmes with topics on design and trends, business strategies and market developments, helping participants stay ahead of the competition.

Design and trend seminars are scheduled for the first day of the show, revealing the 2013 trends for the home interior market. A debut Interior Design Forum will feature international and domestic designers discussing the latest trends in soft decoration.

On the second day, industry leaders will share success stories of overseas brand promotion in China at the International Brand Distributors Sharing Session.

Prominent leaders from China Home Textile Association, China Textile Industry Association, leading trade publication "Home Textiles Today" and the professional testing institute Hohenstein will speak about marketing development in China and European safety standards.

Key international home textile buyers, and 25 buyer delegation organisers from 18 countries and regions have been invited to attend the fair. Among them are one of the top five American home textile importers, Victoria Classic, which is a business partner of large retailers and wholesalers such as Wal-Mart, Macy's and Freds. Also attending will be Al Aqil Furnishings, a leading interior design contractor for residential developments and hotels.

The fair organisers have also worked with influential trade associations such as Project China-Europe Textile Alliance, Sistema Moda Italia, Malaysian Textile Manufacturer's Association, Taiwan Weaving Industrial Association, and Thailand Textile Institute, to form buyer delegations to visit the event.

Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles 2012 is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd; the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; and China Home Textile Association (CHTA).
