International Apparel Sourcing Show closes with record exhibitor number and attendance

The third edition of International Apparel Sourcing Show maintained its importance for the apparel sourcing industry. With 134 exhibitors from 12 countries, the event welcomed attendees from July 24-26, 2012, at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. Visitors took advantage of the many services offered by the show exhibitors, among them contract manufacturing, original design manufacturing and private label development. Including co-located Texworld USA and Home Textiles Sourcing Expo, verified registrations numbered 5,285, which is an increase of 5 percent from July 2011.

Attendees profited from the co-location with the Texworld USA, the largest apparel fabrics show in North America, and the Home Textiles Sourcing Expo. In particular, the co-location of Texworld USA with the International Apparel Sourcing Show enabled buyers, designers, merchandisers and sourcing professionals to trade on the entire value chain from yarns and fibers to CAD and private label development services. Attendees with cross-interest in home applications also headed to Home Textiles Sourcing Expo.

Messe Frankfurt in partnership with chemical fiber producer Lenzing organized a well attended three-day seminar program. Among the many highlights, Apparel Sourcing Show attendees flocked to "Sourcing Hot Spots". Moderated by Arthur Friedman from WWD, representatives and industry experts talked about the sourcing opportunities in the United States and Asia. Discussion arose about the current and future U.S. free trade agreements with Asian-Pacific countries. Other popular seminar topics included "The Southeast Asian Advantage: New Sourcing Opportunities in Southeast Asia" and "Mega Trends for Fall/Winter 20113".
