Martha Stewart and Nicolette Naumann co-host Ambiente VIP Event at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia during New York Design Week

On the occasion of "Dialogues in Design: A New York preview on Ambiente 2013" during New York design week, Martha Stewart (Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia) and Nicolette Naumann (Messe Frankfurt) present a first glance on next year's Ambiente in Frankfurt, Germany. Ambiente is the world's largest and most important trade fair for consumer goods. As the international meeting place for the sector, it will once again be the foremost platform for trend presentations and design events – all of which go towards making Ambiente the world's most attractive, interesting and transaction-oriented consumer-goods fair. Nicolette Naumann, Vice President Ambiente/Tendence, describes Ambiente as "the leading business and design platform for the whole industry and the ideal forum to meet top decision makers from a record number of countries."

Ambiente 2013 will once again feature renowned design prizes like the German Design Award or the prestigious Design Plus Award, exclusive trend presentations such as the Trend Show 2013, the successful "Talents" programme promoting international up-and-coming designers as well as a number of special shows focusing on specific aspects of the consumer goods market such as Solutions for technical innovations in the kitchen department.

With its three segments Dining, Giving and Living, Ambiente presents the whole spectrum of the consumer goods industry on an exhibition area the size of 48 soccer fields. The Dining segment features the latest products for kitchen professionals, household aids and appliances and the whole spectrum of tableware. The Giving segment shows an unparalleled variety of gift items, decorations, handicrafts, authentic and fashion jewellery, beauty and bath products, personal accessories, collectables and fast-moving items. Additionally, the latest interior design ideas, indoor and outdoor decorations, textiles as well as design-oriented and emotional accessories and objects are to be seen in the Living segment.

With last year's trade fair fully booked up five months before opening its gates to trade visitors, this year's show is on course with 70 percent of the exhibition space booked ten months ahead of the show.

Ambiente is the leading international trade fair for products for the table, kitchen, household, giving and decorating, as well as for home and furnishing accessories. For five days at the beginning of the business year, around 4,530 exhibitors from 88 countries occupied some 330,000 square metres of exhibition space to show what consumers will be able to see in shops around the world throughout the year. However, Ambiente is a must not only for the range of products, which is unrivalled in terms of both depth and breadth. The world's leading consumer-goods fair, which this year attracted around 138,058 trade visitors from over 158 countries, was also distinguished by a wide variety of events, promotional programmes for up-and-coming designers, trend presentations and awards ceremonies.
