| Family wineries from Italy were presented in St. Petersburg On December 1, 2011 media company Gambero Rosso presented its project on promotion of Italian wineries on the Russian market - Boutique Italian Wineries Tour 2011. It took place in St. Petersburg, in the Grand Hotel "Europe" in the form of an exhibition and a master class. The exhibition featured mostly small family wineries from Abruzzo, Veneto, Campania, Lazio, Piedmont, Puglia, Sardinia, Tuscany and Umbria. These boutique enterprises tend to express most accurately the terroir of vine growing and take a lot of care about the quality of the produced wines. Employees of wine selling companies, teachers and students of sommelier schools, cavists, journalists, representatives of the hotel business and retail were able to enjoy elegant Prosecco, marine Pecorino and Vermentino, elastic Chianti and Vino Nobile, rich wines from Bolgheri and Montalcino, powerful Alianiko, balsamic Primitivo, spicy Negroamaro, various embodiments of Montepulciano. Professionals of wine selling market could find almost any style, and therefore select interesting wines, since about two-thirds of the exhibitors are not yet represented in Russia. Marco Sabelliko, chief editor of Gambero Rosso and Dmitry Fedotov, director of the Independent Wine Club, held a master class, where they demonstrated the best wines – one from each winery. It so happened that wines originating from the volcanic terroir were recognized as the best. However, the classic wines of Tuscany also have received high scores. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Exhibition News :: home page |
