| ‘Africa Chic’ at Tendence Première at Tendence 2011: a joint presentation by African companies from the design-oriented luxury segment will be held for the first time at the international consumer-goods fair in Frankfurt from 26 to 30 August 2011. The African participation is being organised by 'Trade and Fairs Consulting' and, with 24 companies from eight African nations, the 350 square-metre area in Hall 8.0 is already fully booked up. Located in the heart of the 'Interiors & Decoration' section, the area provides the perfect setting for suppliers from the interior-design, textiles, furniture, lighting and home-accessories segments. Companies from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Ruanda, Namibia, Ghana and South Africa will present products from the fields of interior design, accessories, jewellery, textiles and small pieces of furniture. Their customers include many renowned names such as Harrods and Barneys New York. Among the suppliers taking part will be African Heritage (Kenya), Ahene pa Nkasa Ltd. (Ghana), Casa anin (Namibia), Kenana Knitters (Kenya), Muya Crafts (Ethiopia) and Out of Africa (South Africa / Switzerland). 'Africa Chic' comprises a business zone for corporate presentations, a show area for products and a business lounge. The official opening of the event will take place at 12.00 hrs on Friday, 26 August.
