therapie Leipzig on a successful course

The therapie Leipzig has started with a significant growth for the fifth time in a row. From 10th to 12th March 2011, 242 exhibitors will display their innovations on 14, 000 square metres of exhibition area. The therapie Leipzig thus occupies 40 percent more space than in 2009. Germany's only trade fair with a congress for therapy, medical rehabilitation and prevention provides physiotherapists, masseurs and balneotherapists, occupational therapists, physicians, sports scientists and sports therapists as well as managers of out-patient rehab centres, acute and rehab clinics with a complete overview of the national market. The congress expects about 2,500 participants this year. This is equivalent to a growth of almost 40 percent. For the first time, the therapie Leipzig also hosted the nationwide kick-off event for the German Rehab Day on 10th March.

Innovations from a diagnosis and treatment bed developed especially for pregnant or obese patients over biomechanical test, training and therapy devices, computer-aided systems for posture analysis, therapeutic active positioning cushion, language training games for children with language problems and development disorders to climbing wall panels for rehab facilities and gyms, preparations and accessories for physiotherapy offices, soft-laser-devices for pain therapy and data processing services.

The field Medical Wellness and Alternative Therapies completes the programme with information on, for instance, innovative wellness and spa projects and products for therapy and relaxation methods such as aromas, fragrances or herbs and massage oils for Asian naturopathy treatments.

The central kick-off event of the German Rehab Day on 10th March was for the first time ever hosted by the therapie Leipzig. On 24th September 2011, it will already be the eighth time that this nationwide day of action takes place.

The German Rehab Day is supported by a broad alliance of action: 24 institutions, organisations and associations are involved – from service and care providers over patient associations to the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. The action day focuses on the networking of all those involved in rehabilitation.

Many associations and organisations use the therapie Leipzig as a platform for their own trade events. The BamR e.V. (Federal Association of Medical Out-Patient Rehab Centres), for instance, again holds its annual meeting during the fair. Furthermore, it invites to its 3rd symposium "Out-patient rehabilitation in Germany" in Leipzig on 11th March. The focal point of the symposium is out-patient rehabilitation located near the patient's home as a care option for the future. The conference's target group are decision-makers, rehabilitation experts, owners of out-patient rehabilitation centres and all those interested in rehab options close to the patient's home.

Rehab doctors from Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia meet in order to discuss their trade at the 12th Symposium of the Regional Association of the Berufsverband der Rehabilitationsärzte e.V. (Professional Association of Rehabilitation Physicians) – the subject of the symposium is "Physical and Rehabilitative Medicine in 2011 – Issues, Interesting Facts and Thoughts for Daily Life and Professional Practice".

In six special shows, experts, for example, put the traditional Thai Yoga massage and diagnosis and therapy in Traditional Chinese Medicine into perspective. Furthermore, Qigong masters will also introduce themselves and perform practical exercises together with visitors of the fair.

Further special shows inform about osteopathy training, "Salt & brine" and "Customer acquisition and loyalty thanks to intelligent room design". Visitors may test their sense of balance, coordination and reactions on the "Vestibular-Motor-Coordination-Course".

Five lecture forums complete the programme: the new forums Neurology & Orthopaedics and Franchise, in addition to Therapy, Medical Fitness & Wellness and Osteopathy.
