| Russian Wine Fair 2010 Exhibition. Results Within three days, from 18 to 20 November, Hall № 1 (Hall 1) of the Crocus Expo has become a center of international dialogue and business cooperation of manufacturers and distributors with potential partners from around the world. The exhibition opening ceremony was attended by: Leonid Popovich – the President of the Union of Winegrowers and Winemakers of Russia; Oleg Tolmachev - Head of the Department of Wine growing, Winemaking and Gardening of the Krasnodar Region; Alexander Panasyuk – the Deputy Director of the State Scientific Research Institute of Brewing, Soft Drinks and Wine Industry; Victor Polyakov – the Director of the All-Russian Research Institute of Food Biotechnology of Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences; Nariner Bagmanyan – the President of the Asti Group exhibition company. Opening the exhibition, Nariner Bagmanyan thanked all the participants and partners, who have for 10 years consistently supported the conducting and organizing of the event. She wished all the Russian manufacturers not to slow down the pace, to improve product quality and to win not only Russian but also international markets, while the Drinks Industry / Russian Wine Fair exhibition and the related events are always contributing to the achievement of this goal. Speakers also noted that every year the exhibition is becoming more representative, gaining momentum, once again justifying its reputation as one of the most professional trade fairs in this area of business. After the opening of the exhibition the award ceremony took place, where the top alcohol brands were awarded with the Gold National Award for the quality of alcoholic beverages following the results of 2010. Vodka "Dixon, the company Shushenskaya marka"; rum "Anejo", the company "Luding" and vodka "Kristall" of JSC "Moscow Distillery "Cristall" were acknowledge as the winners. The Independent Wine Club also named the winners of the Independent Wine Club Awards in nominations "The Best Wine of the Year" and "The Best Negotiant of the Year". Among the winners of these prestigious competitions and nominations was the production presented by the participants of the Drinks Industry / Russian Wine Fair 2010 exhibition. The business program was opened with the Round Table: "Russian Alcohol Market: the Present and the Future", which was held to discuss topical issues related to the prospects of development of the alcohol market in the light of changes in legislation. The discussion was attended by representatives of legislative and executive authorities, industry associations and business organizations, independent experts of the alcohol market. Quality and safety of the alcohol products in the consumer market was also discussed alongside with the other issues. At the Professional Forum, which was held on November 19, 2010, market specialists were able to learn about the problems of the beverage industry and new marketing, advertising and promotion technologies, which can help to overcome the objective difficulties. Participants of the business program noted that the Russian and international markets response to the tightening of administrative and legislative regulations in the production and turnover of alcoholic beverages, wine and beer was civilized: the search for the new advertising, marketing and promotional technologies which would allow to combine the interests of society, state and participants of beverages market. This approach, surprisingly for skeptics, proved to be successful and productive. This year the exhibition attracted a large number of foreign producers of high quality wines from Azerbaijan, Argentina, Armenia, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Greece, Kazakhstan, Romania, the USA, Chile, Finland and other countries. And, of course, within the frames of the exhibition the latest achievements were demonstrated by the enterprises of the Stavropol region, Rostov region and the flagship of Russia's wine industry - Krasnodar region, which brought together under the slogan "Wines of Kuban - the pride of Russia" its premium wines. At the master classes, which were held by the Russian and international wine experts within three days of the exhibition, all professionals and guests were able to learn more about the intricacies of winemaking and the history of emergence or revival of soil and grapes cultivation culture, as well as to estimate the unique taste and aroma of wines and beverages from various wine regions of the world: Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Azerbaijan, Germany, Armenia, Chile, the Krasnodar region and the Rostov region (Tsimlyanskoe wine). Very special for the Russian wine makers was the unique master class held by Robert Joseph - the wine critic, the expert and the writer from Britain, Darrell Joseph – the American expert on the wines of Central and Eastern Europe; Eleonora Scholes – the Russian wine critic, who lives in Italy, and also Vladimir Tsapelik – the president of the Independent Wine Club. Experts estimated the domestic wines presented by the enterprises "Vinodelnja Vedernikov", "Fanagorija", "Myshako" and "Shato Le Gran Vostok" (JSC "Aurora"). Experts have acquainted participants of a master class with the European view on the Russian wines and have expressed confidence in the further prosperity of the Russian winemaking, noting that Russia at the moment has a very good time for producing its own wine. Among other events it is worth noting the enogastronomic tasting of wines and Azerbaijan cuisine dishes hosted by the company Caspian Coast Winery and Vineyards (Azerbaijan). On Saturday, November, 20 the participants and guests of the international exhibition Russian Bar Fair were seeing off the Russian national team delegation to the World Championship among barmen in Singapore. All exhibitors and visitors of the exhibition enjoyed a fascinating show – the performances of participants of the World championship WCC in a nomination "classic" – Olga Markevich (St.-Petersburg), in a nomination "flaring" – Alexey Balashov (Moscow). Also they were able to taste the "cocktail from the champion".
