Baltshop Balthotel Baltgastro in Vilnius

Between November 4–6, the Lithuanian Exhibition and Convention Centre LITEXPO will host two exhibitions with complementing themes: "BaltShop; BaltHotel; BaltGastro" dedicated to shop, hotel, restaurant and gastronomy equipment, and BAF (Baltic Food and Beverages Fair) that will introduce the national culinary heritage and traditions, and the latest gourmet innovations.

"BaltShop. BaltHotel. BaltGastro" is being held for the 14th time. This year, products and services from more than 60 Lithuanian, German and Latvian companies will be demonstrated. Hall 5 of the Exhibition Centre will be filled with the latest furniture and equipment for shops, hotels, restaurants, accounting and control systems, cash registers, lighting and interior design services, table setting, decorating tools and utensils, hygiene and cleaning equipment, uniforms, clothing, textiles, coffee, tea and spices, sauces.

As always, this exhibition will host events drawing significant attention from professionals and the general public. In this year's exhibition the Lithuanian Association of Restaurant Chefs and Confectioners organizes competitions for The Best Lithuanian Chef of 2010 and The Best Lithuanian Confectioner of 2010. A total of 12 cooks and 8 confectioners will compete in these competitions. The Association will offer workshops on healthy eating, wine and food matching, the art of fruit and vegetable cutting, and others.

During the exhibition, the Public Institution Horeca Guru will host the first conference in Lithuania for hospitality industry professionals, representatives of the food and beverage industry and sales. The conference will focus on innovation and new technologies in the hospitality and service industry, new customer services, art of the sale of services, work and time management and more.

The international food and beverage exhibition BAF is being held for the third year. This time it attracted about 50 exhibitors from 10 countries: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Belarus, Sweden, Italy, Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Sri Lanka. They represent their products, and thus food and drink culture and traditions of their countries. Italian businessmen will present their country's food traditions not only on the stand but also in special lessons for visitors on the culture of the production and consumption of wine and oil. Flavio Brenta will share the skills in choosing good wine and good olive oil, will name places where you can buy the right product, and will host their tasting.

A separate section in the exhibition will be dedicated for promotion of national culinary heritage and traditions of organic food. Here visitors will find Lithuanian meat products, a variety of cheeses, handmade linseed bread and scones, ostrich products from a Lithuanian ostrich farm, homemade national 'šakotis' cakes, various teas, non-traditional products from amber: teas and bitters.
