| National Greek wines at the Russian Wine Fair 2010 This year the Greek winemakers will acquaint participants and visitors of the international exhibition "Drinks Industry / Russian Wine Fair 2010" which will be held from 18th to 20th of November 2010 at the Crocus Expo in Moscow, with a new collection of wines which will be presented at the national stand of Greece. Among them, first of foremost, there will be original wines from the famous autochthone grape varietiy Xynomavro, which grows in the western Macedonia in the north of Greece and from which red, white and sparkling wines are being produced. Many experts justly note that the best wines from Xynomavro remind great wines of Bordeaux. Winemakers from PDO Naoussa and Amyndeon regions will present the wines made not only from Xynomavro, but also from the blends of other local and international varieties of grapes which successfully make the basis of the most famous of Greek still wines. Specialists will be interested to learn about the so-called organic or eco-friendly wines, whose production has recently become popular not only in Greece but also in France, USA, Spain, Italy, Australia, Uruguay, Germany and other countries. These wines will be presented at the exhibition by the Union of Legal Entities of Organic Wine Producers which includes the companies located in Northern Greece (regions Goumenissa and Kozani) and Southern Greece (region Peloponnisos-Kalamata). The master class which will take place on November, 19th will provide visitors and experts with a possibility not only to estimate the taste of the Greek wines and wine-gastronomic combinations, but also to learn the history of winemaking, peculiarities of grapes cultivation, traditional and modern methods of wine production and storage. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Exhibition News :: home page |
