ProPak remains on schedule

Bangkok Exhibition Services (BES), organisers of ProPak Asia 2010 announced that the event remains on schedule for its 16 — 19 June event at BITEC, with dedicated commitment from all sectors of the region's processing and packaging industry.

ProPak Asia 2010 increasingly attracts a worldwide audience looking to tap into the latest know-how and technology. Global pre-registered buyers to ProPak Asia 2010 have hit a record high for ProPak Asia 2010, new buyers registered online to visit this year, countries included Thailand, Malaysia, India, Japan, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Indonesia, Pakistan and Australia.

This suggests continuous growth of Asia's processing, filling and packaging industry. In addition, the show in Bangkok is built around the growing needs of the ASEAN economy, serving a market of more than 575 million people across ten countries.

ProPak Asia 2010 represents a unique integration of products and innovations in packing, filling, processing, quality assurance, test and measurement and many related fields like automation, transportation, storage, refrigeration, ingredients, labeling and pollution control. Four specialised categories will be highlighted this year: DrinkTech Asia for brewing and beverage technology; PharmaTech for pharmaceutical technology; PlasTech Asia for plastic materials, molding and processing equipment; and Lab & Test Asia for laboratory and test equipment.

Part of the high prospect stems from the last edition's tremendous results. The 2009 event was a great success, featuring 843 exhibiting companies from 39 countries and welcoming almost 30,000 visitors from 63 countries. Official groups from China, France, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and UK also joined the event. It was estimated that the show generated sales of an estimated US$ 100 million with post-event trading rounding up the sum to more than US$ 280 million.

Special features at ProPak Asia this year include the Asian Food Innovation Conference, the Thai Star Packaging Awards in conjunction with the DIP and the Thai Packaging Association, the Indian Business Forum, the APN Plastic in Packaging Conference, the Transparent Packaging seminar by TISTR, Heuft Asia's Brewing Seminar, the Food Innovation Contest, the PharmaTech Seminar organized by the Industrial Pharmacist Group and the FoSTAT Nestle Quiz Bowl.
