Tendence: the latest ideas for the home

Tendence will once again open its doors at the traditional end-August time slot and be distinguished by a powerful pair of themes. At the two trade fairs, Living and Giving, everything will revolve around the home, furnishing, trends and design, as well as creative presents, for five days (27 to 31 August 2010). Thus, Tendence will be the most international order venue in the second half of the year, as well as the lifestyle platform for gifts and all the latest home and furnishing trends – an important function given the consumer demand for a cosy and familiar home, which is growing in line with the significance of family, friends and hospitality. The buzz word 'homing' means that dwellings are becoming the focal point of modern social life.

Design is a decisive sales argument for the retail trade. And, in 2010, the big range of modern design will have even more space to grow. At Tendence 2010, Loft will be located perfectly in the modern and exclusive setting of Hall 11.0.

At Interiors & Decoration, buyers will find emotionally-charged products for the home in all design categories and styles: a high-grade selection of international furnishing ideas with home accessories, furniture, textiles and luminaires of all styles will be shown by exhibitors such as Anke Drechsel, daff feel filz, Engels Kerzen, Fink, Goodwill, Haans, Ihr, Lambert, O Living, Scholtissek, Sia, Tom's Company and Zoeppritz. However, the home is not bounded by the walls alone – no matter whether they are looking for garden furniture, planters, outdoor ceramics or lighting for the balcony or veranda, not to mention barbeques and picnic accessories for a summer's day in the fresh air, trade visitors will find everything that makes life in the open more attractive and pleasant at Outdoor Living. And for those who prefer to relax indoors, Seasonal Decoration has a vast range of decorative, party and festival articles, ornaments, florists' requisites, artificial flowers and vases.

Young design, a host of innovations: as part of the 'Talents' promotional programme, international students, graduates and young designers present their designs, prototypes and initial small series of products at 27 exhibition stands. The focus of the 'Talents' is on product and furniture design and is guaranteed to given an exciting insight into the world of ideas of the young avant-garde.

The 'Next' promotional programme is aimed at young design companies that have already been able to gather some experience in the sector but still need to gain a solid foothold. For these companies, Messe Frankfurt offers special conditions with, for example, inexpensive, completely-equipped exhibition stands.

This year, Viennese designer Julia Landsiedl will look around Tendence as the fair's 'Personal Shopper' and, in the Galleria, use products from Tendence exhibitors to create a presentation that, on the one hand, bears her individual signature and, on the other hand, comprises a representative cross section of the range to be seen at Tendence. In this way, Personal Shopper offers active aid and inspiration for visitors wanting to make the right product choice.
