| EVTEKS – Istanbul Home Textile Fair EVTEKS 2010 – 16th Istanbul Home Textile Fair is supported by TETSIAD - Turkey Home Textiles Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association and organized by ITF - Istanbul Trade Fairs. It will be held between 19-23 May, 2010. 15th Istanbul Home Textiles Exhibition, where the worldwide renowned actors of the sector met at Istanbul CNR EXPO, has been the center of attention. A total number of 72.000 people including 14.000 international people visited the exhibition. While the exhibition paved the way for new business opportunities for investors in search of new markets on the one hand, it also hosted the 2010 trends in home textiles on the other hand. EVTEKS- 15th Istanbul Home Textiles Exhibition, among the largest in its sector all around the world and the largest exhibition in all sectors in Turkey, hosted over 1500 brands. The most outstanding developments of this year were the number of international visitors and domestic exhibitors. There were 667 exhibitor companies at the show, organized in 10 halls at an area of 150.000 sqm. There was a high interest from European and American buyers to the show. They were reported to say that they chose Turkey as production base instead of Far East. Among the exhibitor countries at the show were India, Spain, Egypt and Italy. The share of international exhibitors at the show was 15%. Companies which exhibited at EVTEKS stated that they were glad with buyers from Middle East and Russia and that the fairs in Europe organized in the same sector were declining. Spanish and Italian exhibitor companies were reported to say that they will exhibit only at EVTEKS next year. EVTEKS- 15th Istanbul Home Textiles Exhibition, hosted visitors from 48 countries worldwide including Europe, Russia, The USA, Middle East, North and South Africa and Asia Pacific. In the scope of Hosted Buyer Program, a buyers' delegation of 100 people from Australia, The USA, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Finland, India, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Panama, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine and Venezuela also made business connections throughout the fair. Regardless of the present economic climate, EVTEKS hosted an outstanding number of buyers from Russia. Middle East countries made their choices for Turkey as well. Along with Japan there was an increase in the number of visitors from Iran, Syria and other Middle East countries compared to 2008. The Trend Forum -organized by UIB- Uludag Exporters Association- designed by worldwide famous Gunnar Frank and Inkrit Berbee, was another praise deserving activity at the exhibition. Buyer delegations praised the Trend Forum.
