Interxion to sponsor Data Centre World Conference and Expo

Interxion, a leading European operator of carrier-neutral data centres, announced its platinum sponsorship of the annual Data Centre World Conference and Expo event, taking place on the 23rd - 24th February, 2010 at the Barbican Exhibition Halls in London.

Data Centre World is the largest free exhibition and conference for data centre professionals in the UK, examining, in detail, the issues surrounding the selection, outsourcing, building and running of a data centre. The free-to-attend conference covers the latest trends and technologies and includes case studies from the UK's top companies and leading outsourced operators.

As part of its support for the event, Interxion will be fielding two of its executives to deliver keynote addresses on the latest challenges facing the sector. Kevin Dean, Interxion's Chief Marketing Officer's presentation, entitled 'Where the Cloud Lives – The Carrier Neutral Datacenter', looks at how the carrier-neutral data centre is one of the four key enablers of cloud computing and how they can be leveraged to optimise the delivery of cloud computing services. Kevin will also take the opportunity to highlight the importance of a reliable network infrastructure for cloud computing and how organisations can build highly resilient, scalable cloud-computing data centre environments.

In addition, Lex Coors, Interxion's VP Engineering & Technology Group, will be presenting 'The Future of PUE', which looks at the likely impact of the impending Carbon Reduction Committee legislation on organisations that operate or outsource their data centre infrastructure. He will also take the opportunity to outline potential developments in energy efficiency measurement based on his involvement with the Uptime Institute Europe, European Commission DG Joint Research Committee on Sustainability, The Green Grid and the European Data Centre Code of Conduct Metrics Group.
