| New education programs added to World of Asphalt and AGG1 Shows The 2010 AGG1 and World of Asphalt exhibitions announce new and expanded educational programming for show attendees. The World of Asphalt Show & Conference and AGG1 Aggregates Forum & Expo will be held February 15-18, 2010 at the Duke Energy Convention Center in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. New programs include the "Project Management Essentials: Planning that Boosts Coordination, Control, and Cash Flow" course, the "NIOSH Seminar in Major Risk Assessment, " and the "Legal Symposium for the Aggregates Industry." The NIOSH seminar and legal symposium are included in the annual convention program of AGG1 show owner National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association (NSSGA), but open to all show attendees. The project management course is a new addition to World of Asphalt, also open to all show attendees. World of Asphalt's "People, Plants, and Paving Training Program" includes more sessions focused on warm mix asphalt and pavement-preservation. New topic areas in the training program include technical advancements on electronic job tracking; new applications of crumb rubber and OGFC; advancements in WMA, including foaming and additives approaches; energy efficiencies and alternative energy sources; quality control of operations and challenges involved; troubleshooting plant operations; handling shingles in the plant; and how to sell in tough times. The AGG1 show's AGG1 Academy has added a new Technology track and new Business/Management track, in addition to tracks from the 2009 show, which focused on key aspects of aggregates operations (dredging, automation, plant operations, community relations, environmental/safety/health, transportation, sustainability, and drilling & blasting). The technology track classes will present highly technical information in a way that non-technical people can easily understand, and the business/management track will help employees become more productive and cost-effective as they adapt to changing responsibilities and priorities in today's economy. Additional education also available to all show attendees includes the Asphalt Pavement Alliance's (APA) Asphalt Pavement Conference, with the theme of "Saving Pavements, Dollars and the Environment, " and the co-located National Traffic Management and Work Zone Safety Power Workshops, sponsored by the American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA). World of Asphalt and AGG1 target the needs of aggregates, asphalt, pavement maintenance and traffic safety industry professionals. Leading industry manufacturers and suppliers will unveil and discuss their latest technologies and product innovations on the show floor, complemented by industry-focused education programs for all segments. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Exhibition News :: home page |
