Light+Building 2010 already almost fully booked up

The Light+Building success story is set to continue in 2010: all national and international market leaders have signed up to exhibit at the World's Leading Trade Fair for Architecture and Technology in Frankfurt am Main from 11 to 16 April. Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre is already almost fully booked up and visitors will be able to see the world's biggest range of innovations for architecture and integrated building-services technology, e.g., world premières of products and trends in the fields of lighting, electrical engineering and house and building automation, on over 240,000 square metres of exhibition space. Moreover, the industry will present many future-oriented developments in relation to energy efficiency, the key theme of Light+Building 2010.

There is a great potential for saving energy in all three sections of Light+Building and this potential can be exploited to the full thanks to the interdisciplinary nature of the fair. Visitors will find all aspects of 'green' or environmentally-friendly building technologies at a glance – not visions but technology and solutions ready for immediate use. At Light+Building, future-oriented products are distinguished by one thing in particular – a combination of excellent design with innovative, energy-efficient technology in the interests of greater comfort, security and well-being.

Light+Building is rounded off perfectly by ACS – Computer Systems in the AEC Industry – at Congress Centre Messe Frankfurt from 14 to 16 April 2010. As one of the leading platforms for information and communication technologies, it offers architects, planners and engineers a spectrum ranging from software solutions, via hardware and services, to specialist information for everyone working in the building sector. Apart from the trade fair, there will also be lectures and seminars at the ACS Forum.

Another characteristic feature of Light+Building is a comprehensive complementary programme tailored to the various visitor target groups. A première in 2010 will be the new Design Plus – powered by Light+Building competition, which merges the two previous competitions, Design Plus and Lights of the Future. A major attraction on the programme is the Building Performance Congress, which takes an in-depth look at developments of topical interest to the sector. Another is the Trend Forum, which presents the home trends for 2010 / 2011 and acts as a magnet to architects, interior architects, the specialist retail trade and designers.

A highlight of a rather different kind is Luminale, the lighting-culture biennale, which begins in the evenings when Light+Building has closed for the day. Over the years, Luminale has developed into a lighting show that attracts worldwide attention and architects, designers, media designers, artists and universities will present another 100 pioneering lighting projects in Frankfurt and the region in 2010.

Light+Building 2008 ended with a sensational record for the fair and exhibition industry – no less than 167,000 visitors made their way to Frankfurt to see the products and services offered by 2,173 manufacturers. Messe Frankfurt expects around 2,200 companies to exhibit at the 10th edition of Light+Building.
