Second Edition OF BBF-EXPO COMM

After an effective first edition, last year's event produced over 4200 visitors specialized within the ICT sector, 113 sponsors and exhibitors and 200 operators- not to mention the presence of Paolo Romani, Vice Minister of Economic Development, Corrado Calabro, President of the Italian Regulatory Authority and other major government representatives of the Italian ICT sector. BBF-EXPO COMM is organized in part by E.J. Krause and Associates ( the largest privately owned U.S. exhibition and conference organizer) along with Fiera Roma and Wireless srl.

BBF-EXPO COMM will take place this year on November 24th and 25th at the Fiera Roma exhibition grounds. BBF-EXPO COMM ITALIA is becoming known for being the most important platform for new specialized services, networking and technology exchange. It is the most important "knowledge driven" event dedicated to the world of ICT in Italy. It is the event where CEOs, operators and government entities come together to discuss the present and the future of ICT in Italy. This major Broadband event covers a wide range of intense content packed topics within this two day span. Incorporated into the conference program are also many high level seminars and technical workshops.

However in addition to the informational conferences and seminars, the event offers companies the opportunity for networking and holding business meetings on the exhibition floor which allows the exhibition area to become an integral part of this important activity. BBF/EXPO COMM ITALIA will be more than an "Industry Summit", as indicated by the continued "special collaboration" of AGCOM and the inclusion of EMEA DAY which will attract representatives from other regulatory agencies in the Mediterranean countries.

This year the major focus of the event is DGTV which is reinforced by the presence of DGTVi the major Italian Digital Association which is holding their internal meeting within BBF-EXPO COMM and in which they will analyze the state of the art and development prospects for the operators in a year where the digital switch-over has brought sweeping changes to their industry. Keeping in line with the new concept of this event, other company meetings are being planned to take place within the confines of BBF-EXPO COMM this year.

Among the principal issues that will be addressed are the convergence of the existing net towards Ip protocol for the creation of a single infrastructure oriented towards new generation services (NGN2) designed to facilitate the new television (DTT, Web and IPTV) and other available "intelligence" portals such as smartphones which are destined to assume the same functions that are currently being done by Personal Computers.
