| Market Focus Breaks All Records At ECOC 2009 Nearly 900 gather to hear top market presentations from industry leaders worldwide. Market Focus – organised in conjunction with this year's ECOC exhibition in Vienna, Austria, this week – broke all records with nearly 900 leading industry executives taking part. An array of world class presenters maintained a three-day momentum of presentations covering topics including 40G and 100G Ethernet, Optical Network Agility and the role of optical communications in Green Telecoms and Mass Market Broadband Fibre Access. On the opening day it was standing room only as FTTH Council Europe Director General Hartwig Tauber began the proceedings. Other FTTH Council presentations were then followed by spokespeople from Cisco and Deutsche Telecom. The second day was divided between 40G and 100G and optical network agility – with presentations by, among others, Nortel, Verizon, JDSU and Ericsson and on the final morning the programme was devoted to optical solutions for mobile networks and packet optical transport, with contributors being Fujitsu, France Telecom, Nokia Siemens and Infonetics. "We were expecting a good response but the Market Focus exceeded all our expectations, " said Beverley Lucas, Group Events Manager for organisers Nexus Media. "Our presenters excelled, with some invaluable insight into the market going forward, and the feedback has been tremendous already." In total, 897 people attended the sessions and plans are already underway for next year's event. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Exhibition News :: home page |
