| Indian Railways Confirms Support For Exporail India ![]() With a network extending to more than 63,000 route-km, IR is the world's second largest railway under a single overall management. Major long-term investments in the system are being made to deliver the extra capacity needed to meet the demands of a fast-growing economy. Urban mass transit schemes are also being implemented or are planned in many of India's cities to provide sustainable solutions for increasing mobility needs. Participants in the exhibition, which will take place at the Pragati Maidan Exhibition Centre in New Delhi from 21 to 23 October 2009, include companies from Italy, Germany, Russia and Switzerland. France will also be a strongly represented, with a pavilion co-ordinated by the country's UBI France export agency that will include a presence by SNCF International, the overseas arm of French National Railways. Leading Indian firms will also be exhibiting. Exporail India covers all the categories of equipment and services needed to support these investments, providing companies in the railway supply industry with a unique opportunity to present their capabilities to one of the world's most dynamic markets. The first Exporail India in 2007 attracted nearly 2,500 visiting industry professionals, including many senior Indian Railways and government figures. The highly successful show also drew exhibitors from 14 countries. Exporail India 2009 is organised by Inter Ads-Brooks Exhibitions (India) Ltd, a joint venture between Mack Brooks Exhibitions, a world leader in organising trade exhibitions for the rail industry, and InterAds Pte Ltd, based in India. Mack Brooks' well known events include Railtex, the UK's leading exhibition of railway technology.
