| A Sparkling Display Of Innovations "Change the world, it needs it!" Most of the more than 1,000 companies at iba 2009, which is taking place from 3 to 9 October in Düsseldorf, are taking Bertolt Brecht at his word. Companies invest a lot of time and money in developments, and companies turn to iba to inform the market about them immediately and in detail. "Every three years iba makes an unrivalled contribution - it provides the groundbreaking ideas and inspiration for the future. There is no other fair with such a range of trends and innovations from all over the world that are equally relevant to small bakers, large concerns and industrial bakers. It is second to none for the baking and confectionery market, " says Peter Becker, President of the Zentralverband des Deutschen Bäckerhandwerks (German Bakers' Association). "iba is the ideal market place for positioning new products successfully on the market and testing them against the competition. This leading world trade fair is the innovation engine, where new products are steered onto the right track, because the points are set for the future!" As is traditional, many products will be making their first appearance at iba 2009. By presenting its Crusto bread and rolls line at the fair, the Dutch company Rademaker (Hall 14) is focusing on iba's special global position. What is new about this machine is its modular design, which means that bakers can now produce the type of bread required more flexibly - from tin loaves to rustic bread. At the same time trade visitors can find out about Rademaker's new developments in the croissant line and its high-performance batchers for liquid, semi-liquid and viscous fillings. The new machines by Rondo (Hall 16) promise to make rolling out and shaping flaky, brioche and croissant pastry a piece of cake. At the Swiss company's stand small bakers and industrial baking concerns can find out all about the price-performance ratio of the systems on display, which range from machines for filled and unfilled croissants to pastry product lines. The Italian company Bassanina is also using iba as the major industry platform to launch its latest generation of ovens. Its new electric ovens Ecozoom and Ecopower will be displayed to the trade for the first time at the company's stand in Hall 12. In addition to these technical product innovations, trade visitors can get up to speed on new and optimized ingredients. For example IREKS GmbH (Hall 10) is mainly focusing on flavouring, and is introducing its bread roll improver 'Eiszeit' at iba. Increasingly high demands are made of improvers, especially in the case of cold-controlled long-time dough method, because the flavour, aroma and quality of bread rolls must be retained throughout the process, from preparation through to baking. The new 'Eiszeit' improver from the Kulmbach-based company ensures this happens, thanks to its special composition of active ingredients. Health benefit: Bäko (Hall 13) is presenting new trends in the area of fruit, among other things, and is introducing a simple and versatile smoothie concept at iba 2009. After all, these fruit juices are developing into an additional source of revenue for bakers and confectioners in view of the increase in take-away food and the general trend towards health in the population. The Italian firm Codap, on the other hand, is hoping its presence in Düsseldorf will open up new applications for its speciality products spray cream and lactose-free cream desserts. Its new subsidiary Codap Professional, which will start business at iba, should be of help here, as the aim of Codap Professional is to target the confectionery industry (from small to large-scale concerns) and the food sector (take-aways, catering and restaurants). write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Exhibition News :: home page |
