| Key Energy Presents Carbon Area An entire expo section dedicated to the carbon credit market and the low carbon economy will be one of the new features at KEY ENERGY, the International Expo on Energy and Sustainable Mobility, Climate and Resources for New Development, being held at Rimini Fiera from 28th to 31st October 2009. This is therefore the launch of a ´showcase´ that will show this market´s potential and the latest innovations in the field of development, planning/design and technologies. Key Energy project manager Barbara Padovan explains, ´There is a widespread opinion that many companies consider the carbon dioxide emission limits as a cage that limits their activity - As is happening in many countries, we believe that in Italy specialist companies will soon made headway and will be able guide firms towards a new perspective: that which sees emission limits as a business opportunity´. This consideration led to the innovative idea of proposing CARBON AREA´, an expo space in which to orientate oneself, meeting the carbon cycle´s key players: consultancy and carbon management service firms, manufacturers of clean technology and technical-engineering consultants, banks, legal and carbon finance consultants, certification companies, carbon trade exchanges, carbon fund, ESCOs, the voluntary market, etc. The ´low-carbon´ cycle also keeps the economy lively. In fact, ´green´ economic activities . as is shown by the last WWF report entitled ´Low carbon jobs for Europe´ . already give employment to 3.4 million people on the old continent compared to the 2.8 ´polluters´ (mining activities, cement, iron and steel industries). Alongside these, there are also approximately 5 million other indirect jobs. As is revealed by the document of the environmentalist association, all the green sectors . in particular wind, photovoltaic, biomass, public transport and the building trade . report a considerable growth and, thanks to the stimuli of the climate-energy Package approved by the EU, this will not slow down. The ´charts´ of the ´no-greenhouse gas´ professions are topped by Germany, Spain and Denmark for wind energy, solar and biomass exploitation. In Italy, the situation is not so ´green´: in the photovoltaic field, for example, Italy provides 1, 700 jobs, compared to the 42,000 of the Germans and the of the 26, 800 Spaniards In the thermal solar sector on the other hand, we have reached 3, 000 jobs, compared with 17,400 in Germany. Lastly, as far as wind energy is concerned, with not even 2,000 jobs, as well as the ´big names´ (Germany 85, 100 employees, Spain 40,000, Denmark 23,500) we are also rather far behind France (7,000) and Great Britain (4,000). When reading these figures, it must however be borne in mind the fact that incentive measures were only recently introduced in Italy, based on the example of those that enabled photovoltaic energy to take off in Germany. It is easy to imagine that in Italy there will soon be a jump in the employment and in the near future will be under the banner of investment and work, with greater business opportunities for the companies. The third edition of KEY ENERGY will be held with the thirteenth ECOMONDO, international trade fair on material & energy recovery & sustainable development, the 5th Ri3 (Expo of Regeneration, Refill and Re-use of printing media, hardware and IT & telecom products) and the 2nd edition of COOPERAMBIENTE trade fair for the cooperative supply of energy and environment services, in collaboration with LegaCoop. As of this year, the pool of events will be further expanded by the first edition of ENERGYES, a trade fair dedicated to systems and solutions for efficient use of energy. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Exhibition News :: home page |
