| Ferran Adrià To Speak Live In The Restaurant Show’s El Bulli chef just one of several top names set to appear. Visitors to this year's Restaurant Show will have the rare opportunity to see a live interview with the world's most famous chef, Ferran Adrià. The chef-patron of Spain's renowned El Bulli – voted the world's best restaurant for the last four years running – will be answering questions posed by Paul Wootton, editor of Restaurant magazine, in the Briefing Theatre, an exciting new show feature for 2009. The Restaurant Show takes place from Monday 12 October to Wednesday 14 October at London's Earl's Court 2. The Briefing Theatre will also be the stage for a series of panel discussions, which will feature some of the biggest and most famous names in the restaurant business. Top chefs lined up to appear include Tom Aikens (of Tom Aikens), Richard Corrigan (Corrigan's Mayfair), Anthony Demetre (Arbutus, Wild Honey), Rowley Leigh (Le Café Anglais) and Tristan Welch (Launceston Place). There will also be the chance to hear from other leading lights in the industry, including Harden's co-founder Peter Harden, Hibiscus co-owner Claire Bosi, Clapham House chairman David Page, Soho House operations director Martin Kuczsmarski and Malmaison people director Sean Wheeler. Panellists will debate some of the hottest issues of the day, with topics up for discussion to include the impact of the recession, the role of restaurant critics and strategies for ensuring your restaurant stands head and shoulders above your rivals'. The Restaurant Show Briefing Theatre will also host a Livebookings 'Ask the Experts' session presented by two-starred chef Michael Caines (Gidleigh Park) and Anneliese Hainz, reservations director at Gordon Ramsay Holdings. Clair Bowman, show manager, said the new Briefing Theatre would confirm The Restaurant Show as the number one trade show for the restaurant industry and an event not to be missed. "The Briefing Theatre will be the perfect accompaniment to our demonstration Stage, " she said. "I can't think of any other event where you can get to hear so many big names speaking in one place on such a wide variety of cutting-edge topics. And as if that wasn't enough, delegates will also get to see an exclusive live interview with Ferran Adrià of elBulli. It doesn't really get better than that." write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Exhibition News :: home page |
