| Spoga 2009 - The Garden Trade Fair, Cologne Green, greener, spoga Cologne - from 6th to 8th September the Cologne Exhibition Centre will become the flowering meeting place for the international garden and leisure markets. At the garden trade fair in Cologne around 1,350 suppliers from over 50 countries will be presenting their new products and innovations. As a result, the world's leading trade fair for the green sector is providing the trade visitors with a comprehensive global market overview in gross exhibition space of 168,000 square metres. For the first time, there will be lush flora throughout the entire spoga exhibition halls thanks to the various plant producers, who will transform the garden fair into a green oasis. With its extended and high-quality support programme, spoga promises to be a sector meeting place of the highest level. "Inter-action and communication will play a major role at this year's spoga", announced Oliver P. Kuhrt, Executive Vice-President Koelnmesse. "From the attractive demonstration areas in the barbecue, garden furniture or water sports sections right up to the Contract-Workshop, we have put together a professional programme for our trade visitors, which serves as an outstanding complement to the exhibitors' comprehensive product range." The latest products and services covering sport, camping, leisure and lifestyle will be presented in Halls 2 to 5, 10 and 11 and also in the Rheinparkhallen. In this connection spoga will once again shine with its internationality: 1, 082 companies have come from abroad, 268 from Germany. Here the European nations such as for example Italy, Great Britain and the Netherlands are strongly represented. In addition, colourful product range diversity is also ensured by exhibitors from exotic countries such as El Salvador or the Philippines. The "furniture" section with the "Furniture and Home Items" segment will once again demonstrate its leading position as the strongest product group at spoga 2009. In Halls 2, 3 and 11 around 700 companies will present their new furniture products and innovations. The fact that garden life is also becoming increasingly synonymous with garden lifestyle is clearly underlined by the growing range of high-quality and design-orientated furniture and accessory elements, which will be shown in Hall 2 in the "Center of Excellence". There the visitors will be provided with an attractive overview of the innovations offered by the top companies, which due to their quality and design, are the trend-setters in their respective market segments. The outdoor cooking theme also continues to be more than popular and will be prominently represented at spoga 2009. Be it gas or charcoal, beginners' or luxury models, visitors will be able to experience the trends in the grill and barbecuing scene in the "leisure" section in Hall 5.1. In addition the "leisure" area in Hall 5.2 will be brought to life by suppliers from the "Camping & Leisure" and "Sport & Games", segments, who are presenting a diverse range of equipment for outdoor pleasure ranging from tents through to water sports. Traditionally a strong event, the equestrian sports fair spoga horse will once again be presented this autumn, held parallel to spoga in Hall 4 with around 380 suppliers. The comprehensive product spectrum at spoga will then be finally rounded off by the "ambience" sector in Hall 10. This is where around 260 regular gafa exhibitors are located, who use the annual spoga event in Cologne to present their innovations. The "ambience" section includes the following segments: "Floristry Supplies & Decorations", "Water Technology & Outdoor Lighting", "Plants & Plant Care", "Equipment & Garden Structures", "Pet Care Products & Accessories" and "Design & Maintenance". Green and "Oranje" dominate True to the new motto of the spoga "grow" campaign, in addition to trends and new ideas, a whole lot of greenery will also be flourishing at the garden trade fair. Young-plant producers such as Kientzler or Dümmen will transform the newly created Plant Centre in Hall 10 along with other special areas into a flourishing, flowering spectacular and provide floral highlights all around the exhibition halls. In addition to green one other colour will feature prominently at spoga 2009: "oranje". For the first time the Netherlands will really make their mark on the fair with their products in, around, from and for the garden ranging from tulips up to Dutch Design & Co. Be it Dutch design and plant trends or information about Holland as a sales market: the 4/5 passage will go completely Dutch during the fair. Expertise and communication in the support programme The support programme at spoga 2009 will take an attractive and practically-orientated approach. With the "Barbecue Park" (Hall 5.1), the "Beach and Water Sports Park" (Hall 5.2) and the "Garden Furniture Park" (Hall 3.1), new demonstration and communication areas are being created, in which the visitors can for example conduct business meetings and discussions in a relaxed atmosphere or obtain information in experts' lectures. Activities such as live barbecues are also on the agenda here. In addition, the "Beach and Water Sports Park", "Barbecue Park" along with the "Garden Furniture Park" function as showcases for the top innovations from the respective segments. There the visitors will find at a glance the 10 most stylish, smartest new products and innovations. The "Top Ten" products will be selected from all the submitted innovations by sector experts from the "markt in grün" editorial office for the garden furniture section in the run-up to the event and then explained to the visitors in brief lectures. "möbel kultur" trade magazine is once again holding a Contract-Workshop, which offers genuine value-added for business and at the same time invites visitors to join in and have their say. The latest products and services covering sport, camping, leisure and lifestyle will be presented in Halls 2 to 5, 10 and 11 and also in the Rheinparkhallen.
