| Nürnbergmesse Sets Up Subsidiary In Italy Italy provides the largest international share at exhibitions in Nürnberg with more than 1,300 exhibiting and 12,000 visiting companies a year. In order to exploit this potential even more in future and also attract exhibitors and visitors for the growing number of foreign exhibitions within the NürnbergMesse Group, the supervisory board of NürnbergMesse decided to set up the subsidiary NürnbergMesse Italia S.r.l. with headquarters in Milan. Stefania Calcaterra and Thomas Schlitt have been appointed as managing directors. The contract with the present representative of NürnbergMesse in Italy, Italwerbung based in Munich, has been terminated in goodwill by mutual agreement. Italwerbung will continue to support Italian companies with their appearances at German exhibitions in the future. Marcello Raile has been the face of NürnbergMesse in Italy for 18 years. The now 67-year-old owner of Italwerbung together with his team has made Italy the number 1 for international participation and has brought thousands of exhibitors and visitors to Nürnberg. "Norimberga has a good reputation in Italy thanks to his work. Marcello Raile has rendered outstanding services to NürnbergMesse and the development of the international exhibitions, " emphasizes Bernd A. Diederichs, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse. The responsibility for the next stage of development is now taken over by Stefania Calcaterra, a long-standing member of his staff who has worked the Italian market for the NürnbergMesse Group for ten years, and Thomas Schlitt, who is responsible for the development of international subsidiaries at NürnbergMesse. "Our strategic goal is to be represented by our own subsidiaries in all major foreign markets, " explains Diederichs. After China, North America and Brazil, it is now Italy's turn. Other subsidiaries will follow. "Italy could well have invented the principle of exhibitions. We Italians love communication and love doing business. Exhibitions combine the best of these two worlds. This is why the potential number of Italian companies at the Nürnberg exhibition venue and at the foreign exhibitions of the NürnbergMesse Group in North and South America, Russia, Japan, China and India is nowhere near exhausted, " says Calcaterra. There are currently no plans for NürnbergMesse Italia to also organize exhibitions in Italy, but Calcaterra and Schlitt do not wish to exclude this business segment in principle. "We possess the expertise and can accurately assess the Italian market, " says Schlitt. Stefania Calcaterra attended the German School in Milan and first worked in export. She has worked in the exhibition industry since 1986, initially with Messe Frankfurt. She moved to the NürnbergMesse representative in 1999, where she was responsible for the entire marketing communication of NürnbergMesse in Italy as well as technical exhibitions. Thomas Schlitt with responsibility for controlling the international subsidiaries and development of international exhibition business in the NürnbergMesse Group holds a key position for the successful development of the NürnbergMesse Group's international commitment. He acquired his exhibition expertise in the ICT industry, at ZVEI and at Messe München. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Exhibition News :: home page |
