BMAM EXPO ASIA 2009

Thailand's IMPACT Exhibition Management Co Ltd in collaboration with Singapore's CMC Exhibition Services Pte Ltd organised the industry briefing to exhibitors, as well as companies and organisations interested to participate The Building Maintenance and Asset Management Expo Asia 2009 (BMAM EXPO ASIA 2009) Industry at Conrad Hotel. The briefing was aimed at providing the platform for attending industry players to share and exchange views on the market opportunities, industry trends and challenges facing the building maintenance and facility management industries in time of present economic downturn.

The briefing also provided an update to the building maintenance and facility management industry on the progress of BMAM EXPO ASIA 2009 international exhibition and conference scheduled to take place at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Centre from 3-5 September, 2009.

Mr Tanasak Ruangterprat, President of Thailand Facility Management Association (TFMA) disclosed on "Emerging trends in Thailand's facility management industry in times of economic downturn." He said, "In today's economic climate, facility owners and managers are facing difficult challenges, such as shrinking maintenance budget and resources constraints. There is now a greater understanding that conserving resources and cost savings go hand-in hand and this has created strong interests and demand for building systems and high performance solutions to combat rising costs."

According to Asst Prof Dr Tika Bunnag from Faculty of Engineering of Dhurakijbundit University, "The advance energy management solutions have been gaining importance for building owners and facility managers to help reduce energy costs in building. In fact, some of these solutions are so simple, and it does necessarily need huge capital investments to implement."

Mr Loy Joon How, General Manager of IMPACT Exhibition Management Co Ltd, said "This year's BMAM EXPO ASIA 2009 scheduled for 3-5 September at IMPACT Exhibition Hall 2 will be the second annual exhibition and conference to take place in Thailand. Jointly organised by Thailand's IMPACT Exhibition Management Co Ltd and Singapore's CMC Exhibition Services Pte Ltd we are very pleased to get support from several organisations, including ASHRAE Thailand Chapter, Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning under the Ministry of Interior, Illuminating Engineering Association, LIFT Association of Thailand, Thai Electrical & Mechanical Contractors Association (TEMCA), Thai Mechanical and Electrical 2 Design and Consulting Engineers Association (MECT), Thailand Facility Management Association (TFMA), The Building Safety Inspectors and Officers Association (BSA), and The Consulting Engineers Association (CEAT).

"This year, we expect to have over 300 exhibitors and co-exhibitors from 25 countries to showcase and display their state-of-the-art technologies, equipment, products and services to over 3,000 key engineering decision makers, maintenance professionals, building and facility owners from across Asia. In addition to the exhibition, a highly interactive series of workshops, seminars and courses will be organised at the same time featuring tutorial, case studies, strategies, technology and methodology conducted by key industry experts, Mr How concluded.
