With a national rivalry affecting attendance figures and consequently this year's return of the Craft & Quilt Fair, event organisers Expertise Events are calling for Tasmanian craft enthusiasts to support the national event when it returns to the Derwent Entertainment Centre, Hobart, June 26 – 28, 2009. Having supported Tasmanian crafters for the past eight years, the Craft & Quilt Fair is now asking for your support – forget the ongoing and seemingly pointless imaginary segregation between Launceston in the North and Hobart in the South of Tasmania and keep the nation's no. 1 craft event coming back! Those who do will be treated to great displays, the opportunity to learn new techniques and stock up on the latest products and supplies not readily available on the island.

One of the highlights of the fair is sure to be the amazing collections of quilts on display. You'll see the fantasy themed quilts from the first AP&Q AQC Challenge – originally shown at Melbourne's prestigious Australasian Quilt Convention (AQC). Plus you won't want to miss the Tasmanian Quilting Guild Inc display, Island Quilts 2009 or the inspirational collection of the Best of Australia Quilts.

Aspiring and experienced designers will love EXOTICA. Presented by ATASDA (Australian Textile Arts & Surface Design Association Inc), the exhibition features original and unique handmade pieces by talented textile artists from around the country. Their technique and wonderful use of colour will absolutely amaze you.
