| Greenbuilding Signs Up Its Final Exhibitors The market is reacting positively to new trends in environmental living: Greenbuilding, the international exhibition and conference on energy efficiency and sustainable architecture, to be held at the Verona Exhibition Centre, Italy, on 7-9 May 2009, is close to being sold out. Interest is especially high for the four technology focus areas: no space is left for "Lighting" and "Greening the built environment" while there are only a few free stands for "Architecture in wood" and "Geothermal energy". Companies that have confirmed their attendance at Greenbuilding include Pratic, Damiani Legnami, Roverplastik, Kerakoll, Kessel, Fischer Italia, Hilti Italia, Wilo Italia, C&P Costruzioni / Isotex, Apengroup, Termocadif, Carbon System, Optima Giardini Pensili, Coar, Linea Light and Wall to Wall. To round off Greenbuilding's offer this year is a special "Knowledge centre" organised by SACERT, the Italian accreditation system for building certification bodies. This meeting area featuring brief technical seminars on energy certification for buildings will also see the presence of some SACERT members: Cremonesi Consulenze, Rockwool Italia, Baumit Italia, Flir Systems, Celenit and Certiquality. "By taking part in Greenbuilding, where we can reach out to a select public that's interested in energy issues, Rockwool aims to share its corporate philosophy of developing a wide range of projects dedicated to increased energy efficiency, " explained Paolo Migliavacca, marketing manager for Rockwool Italia. "Especially at a time when green issues are at the centre of attention, Rockwool is seeking to provide the right tools and interpretative procedures to 'create' projects that not only meet existing regulations but are also environmentally friendly and efficient." The 2009 edition of Greenbuilding will continue with the established tradition of supplementing the main exhibition with a high-quality programme of conferences and seminars that this year will be opened by Next Building, the international conference on next-generation building technologies and design. For the technology focus area on "Geothermal energy", the supporting event is on "Cooling from geothermal sources"; for "Architecture in wood", there will be "Architecture in wood and passive solar design". Many of the planned events focus on energy efficiency and building certification, including the gathering organised by Anaci Veneto ("Energy saving and energy efficiency in apartment buildings") while SACERT is hosting the third edition of the "National forum on energy certification". The Italian Environment Ministry and the National Ecolabel and Ecoaudit Committee are organising the second edition of the international workshop "Towards a European Ecolabel for buildings – complete sustainability certification"; ENEA meanwhile will hold a question-and-answer session for industry operators on "Energy efficiency in buildings: recent legislative developments on the 55% tax deduction". Green Building Council Italia is organising a conference on "The LEED certification system for energy and environmental sustainability in buildings". Other essential events include those proposed by Assites, the Italian association for awnings, sun shades and shutters ("Sun shades: energy saving and comfort in the home") and the training course for journalists organised by Fire (Italian Federation for the Rational Use of Energy) – "News in full daylight: increased clarity on the energy sector for journalists in the interest of better information". Greenbuilding is also not short on training courses. Fire is also organising the event "Presenting projects for obtaining white certificates" while Geotermia.org's training course is on "Geothermal energy and heat pumps". Aivep (the Italian Green-Roofing Association) is hosting a course on "UNI 11235 regulations: designing and installing green roofing to a code of good practice". Finally, Flir Systems is offering the chance for a professional update on the topic of "Thermography for the building industry and plumbing sector". write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Exhibition News :: home page |
