Deschamps Leader In Aircraft Recovery At Dubai Airport Show

Deschamps, a company specialized in aircraft recovery equipment, will be exhibiting its aircraft recovery range of products at the Dubai Airport Show from May 19 th to 21 st (Indoor Booth under the French Pavilion). Deschamps' range includes all equipments needed to perform quickly and safely an aircraft recovery.

With a long lasting experience in tactical mobility, many patents and various quality certifications including the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Deschamps stands as a leader in ground support equipment and has developed Recovery Kits made as follow :

1 - Mobi-Mat a complete range for ground reinforcement.
The Mobi-Mat Portable Access Solutions are portable road surfaces designed to provide temporary access on unstable, muddy, snowy or sandy ground. Delivered in compact rolls, easy to handle and use, the Mobi-Mat Recovery Pathways or Roadways are the lightest portable access solutions on the market with a maximum of 6 Kg /sqm. Reinforced with composite rods, Mobi-Mat Access Systems have an excellent load bearing capacity, are durable, re-useable, tear-resistant and can withstand extreme weather conditions. They are impervious to kerosene, Skydrol, F54 and require no maintenance. They are air transportable by aircraft palettes.

2 - Mobi-Mat Tow Mat.
The Mobi-Mat Portable Access Solutions range include :
- The Mobi-Mat Tow-Mats designed to build a towing Pathway to debog a stuck aircraft and tow it back to the runway. The Mobi-Mat Tow-Mat is available in various widths matching the different landing gear footprints.

3 - Mobi-Mat Quick Access.
- The Mobi-Mat Quick-Access which is a 4.20 m wide x 12, 5 or 25 m long Temporary Roadway for emergency and towing vehicles to quickly access the damaged aircraft.

4 - A kit for A-380 recovery compatible with all other aircrafts.

For the recovery of the Airbus A380, Deschamps has specifically designed and validated a Mobi-Mat Tow Mat as follows :

Wing gear Tow-Mat with red line: 3, 40 m wide x 3 m long x 6 units for each Wing gear.
Nose gear Tow-Mat with black line: 2, 10 m wide x 3 m long x 6 units.
Body gear Tow-Mat with blue line: 4, 20 m x 3 m long x 6 units for each Body gear.

5 - DARC ( Deschamps Aircraft Recovery Cushion).
The Deschamps Aircraft Recovery Cushions (D.A.R.C) are durable aircraft lifting bags manufactured using a synthetic rubber coated technical textile that is vulcanized in an autoclave at 140 °C (no glue is used). This unique manufacturing technique ensures a homogeneous product endowed with high mechanical strength (bursting point 87 psi versus 29 psi for competing cold-vulcanized or glued products). There is no delaminating risk since the manufacturing method prevents the infiltration of water, dust, mud, etc. The DARC lifting bags have excellent weather resistance and are chemically compatible with substances in the environment. Their intrinsic qualities ensure a long useful life. Finally, their unique red color makes them easily distinguishable.

The DARC lifting bags are available in 15 tons; 25 tons; 60 tons; 40 tons and 60 tons. These last one are in height of 3 m, 4 m or even more in order to recover the A380. A last module with specific shape which will spouse the wing allowable space for lifting.

6 - DARC Base
The DARC Base, is a unique inflatable cribbing concept designed for gaining height. Quickly installed and compatible with all types of lifting bags available on the market, it is safer and more stable than beams and wooden palettes (it can be tethered to the ground by means of a skirt, webbing and stakes if needed). Two types of Darc Base are available, Darc Base 40 tons and Darc Base 60 tons. DARC BASE allows a professional approach to aircraft recovery.

7 - DDRT
The Deschamps Defuelling Rubber Tank (DDRT.) has been designed to quickly defuel up to 300 000 litres of kerosene from a disabled aircraft. Made from heavy duty nitrile rubber according to the hot vulcanization manufacturing process (similar to the tyre's manufacturing process), the DDRT is installed in minutes and allows a rapid defueling of the aircraft. The main advantage is the saving of time and money since the DDRT permits to defuel the aircraft in only one operation. When the defueling of the aircraft is completed the recovery operations can start while the truck tankers transfer the kerosene from the DDRT to the dedicated Airport main reservoir. The DDRTs are available from 5 m3 capacity up to 300 m3.

8 - Global offer

Global Offer means all accessories and equipment to well perform an aircraft recovery. These equipment are made to thether and tow the aircraft (round slings, tensionmeter etc...). Deschamps also propose lifting beam in 12t, 24t and 70 t CMU with balancing pulley. Dollies are the right equipments to smoothly recover an aircraft with collapsing gear.

9 - ARTC (Aircraft Recovery Training Center)

Training is made in an Aircraft Recovery Training Center. It allows customers to subscribe and benefit from practical and theoretical training with the latest equipment. Mobi-Mat deployment, DARC inflation, towing, tethering, lifting are part of the program.
