| Tendence 2009: The Most Important Consumer-goods Fair Messe Frankfurt rings in the busiest time of the year – the autumn and Christmas season – in midsummer when Tendence – International Frankfurt Autumn Fair – turns Frankfurt am Main into a meeting place for the worldwide consumer-goods sector and a must for the design-oriented retail trade from 3 to 7 July 2009. By holding Tendence early in July, Messe Frankfurt has taken account of the ordering needs of the trade so it is now the first event in the national and international calendar of fairs for the second half of the year. "Tendence is distinguished by an unparalleled range of products at the optimum time. But that's not all: unlike any other consumer-goods fair in the second half of the year, Tendence stands for seminal design, the latest trends and valuable inspiration for the trade", explains Nicolette Naumann, Vice President of Messe Frankfurt. Tendence: the platform for the home and giving From 2009, Tendence will be split into three trade fairs, Living, Giving and Collectione, plus the Passage section. With Living and Giving, Messe Frankfurt aims to sharpen the image of Tendence as the platform for products for the home and giving. The focus at the design-oriented Living trade fair (Halls 4.1, 4.2 and 6.1) is on products in the modern interior design category and includes accessories for the home, as well as home textiles, pictures, frames and lighting. The Giving trade fair (Halls 3, 5.1, 5.0 and 6.0) is devoted to presents, a subject that dominates the Advent and Christmas seasons and, therefore, almost the whole of the second half of the year. Besides a large selection of gift articles from traditional to very trendy products, the range of exhibits at Giving also includes stationery, toys, arts & crafts, candles and gourmet presents. The trade fair is rounded off by genuine and costume jewellery, personal accessories and beauty and wellness products. Collectione: seasonal decorations and outdoor articles for big business Collectione Preview Spring + Summer, which has been in Messe Frankfurt's portfolio of events since 2005, is also held as a trade fair under the Tendence umbrella. At this year's Collectione, exhibitors will present the trends for the coming spring and summer season, 2010, for the first time. This part of Tendence is a magnet for top decision makers and bulk buyers from retail chains, department stores, the floristry wholesale trade, DIY and home-improvement centres and garden centres. At Collectione, visitors find a complete spectrum of annual decorations and gift articles, as well as a broad range of products for the balcony, garden and terrace. Collectione is the first and most important event for the presentation of new products for the coming season and a specialist marketing platform for the medium to large-scale segment of the market. In the Passage section in Hall 9, overseas exhibitors present a multifarious range of home accessories, gift articles and products for the table, kitchen and household. A perfect triad: innovations, trends and design Tendence has made a name for itself not only as a forum for the presentation of new products but also as a design and trend venue. The latest tendencies and movements are brought to life at a variety of trend shows. Studio Polka from Vienna and Studio Doshi/Levien from London are the 'Personal Shoppers' for 2009 and will go on a tour of discovery at Tendence. Visitors will be able to see the results of their shopping expeditions – individual but nevertheless representative cross sections of the products to be seen at the fair – at a special trend area. A very special platform for up-and-coming designers at Tendence is 'Talents': 40 young designer and students have the chance to present their prototypes and small series to an audience of international experts and to make their first contacts. Another promotional event, 'Next', is aimed at young designers who have already gained some working experience in the sector and now want to get a firmer foothold. For young international companies with a design background, Next is an opportunity to intensify business contacts and become better known. Examples of classical design and fresh ideas from the motherlands of timeless design, Scandinavia, are to be found at the 'Nordic Design' area. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Exhibition News :: home page |
