Authors Take The Stage As BookExpo America

BookExpo America (BEA) has announced its line up of authors who will be participating in its popular Special Events which include the Author Breakfasts, the Saturday Lunch, the Audio Tea and the newly created Meet the Bestsellers lunch which was launched last year. BEA's speaker program is a convention highlight and brings attention to new books by accomplished writers from many fields of endeavor. Some of the writers who will be showcased in this year's author programming include Julie Andrews Edwards, Craig Ferguson, Tracy Kidder, Jeannette Walls, Pat Conroy, Kathie Lee Gifford, Joe Scarborough, Richard Russo, and Nicholas Sparks.

"Our line up is as robust as it is diverse, which is a point of pride and satisfaction for us, especially since we still have more dynamic author programming to announce over the next two months, " notes Lance Fensterman, Vice President and Show Manager for BEA. "I am profoundly grateful to the publishers and authors who make these quality events possible. Our biggest priority at BEA is to keep building our author programming. As I stated when we announced our new Author Stages, we want to provide the media and the booksellers with an unparalleled opportunity to hear from authors from all walks of life, and we want to provide authors with an equally unparalleled opportunity to influence the influencers who sway book buying habits."

BEA will take place in New York City at the Jacob K. Javtis Center, May 28 – May 31, 2009. Tickets for BEA's '09 Special Events will be available for purchase through the BEA website beginning Wednesday, March 18 th . All ticket prices will be announced at that time.
