| Almost One Hundred Companies Will Take Part At The Spanish Fair PROPET, the Pet Industry Trade Fair, one of the most recently established fairs at IFEMA, which was founded in the year 2008 to cater for a booming industry, presents some excellent prospects at its second edition. In addition to the trade exhibition, which will feature the participation of almost one hundred exhibiting companies, the fair will provide the setting for an intensive programme of coinciding activities, the most outstanding of which will be the AMVAC Congress organised by the Madrid Association of Pet Veterinarians, the body that works alongside IFEMA in staging the fair. On this occasion, PROPET will feature some 85 direct exhibitors and 182 represented companies and brands from all over Spain, based on an exhibition area measuring some 6, 028 net square metres in Hall 4 at Feria de Madrid. Among the participating companies, we might highlight the presence of German, Italian, Dutch and Portuguese exhibitors. In this respect, PROPET not only emerges as the main point of reference for the pet industry in Spain, but is progressing in terms of its international dimension. The following sectors are represented at PROPET through the participation of some of the leading companies within their respective fields: Health Products; Food and Nutrition; Clothing and Accessories; Items for Pets; Aquarium Products; Services, Associations and Government Organisations; and Publications. In this respect, the exhibiting companies will provide a faithful reflection of this booming sector of the economy. The PROPET exhibition aims to target a very specific profile of visitors made up of professionals from the pet industry, including veterinarians and vet assistants, trainers, breeders, stylists, staff at pet shops, kennels, thoroughbred clubs and training companies. . The Exhibition A wide range of professionals will have the opportunity to discover the latest advances within the veterinary field, as well as the most recent trends relating to pets. Pet fashion, a segment that has already established itself in other neighbouring countries, is gradually emerging in Spain, even through the auspices of specialised portals in which exclusive seasonal designs are presented. Just some of the new features that will be on show at PROPET '09 include the following: special dryers featuring ionic technology; therapeutic food and food lines specially designed for hamsters; cameras for the transport of recently-operated animals; and revolutionary phonendoscopes that are capable of capturing the most imperceptible noise. . A Booming Industry The advances that are presented at PROPET provide the best reflection of an industry that has considerable growth potential in Spain, one that has yet to reach the levels of development achieved within this field in neighbouring countries. In fact, according to the latest figures available relating to the year 2007, there are around 20 million household pets in Spain, with annual expenditure per family under this heading coming to around 1, 500 euros. Throughout the year 2007, the industry generated a turnover of 700 million euros. . Specialised Conferences In addition to the marvellous business and trade forum presented at PROPET, the fair will also provide the setting for a packed programme of activities, many of which feature a strong training component. The most important event will be promoted by the Madrid Association of Pet Veterinarians, AMVAC, which actively collaborates in the staging of PROPET. This is the VetMADRID Annual Congress, which on this occasion will focus on the theme of "Haematology and Oncology". The Congress expects to welcome more than 3,000 participants to its sixteenth edition, which will bring together a number of leading international experts in order to analyse the latest scientific advances within the field of pet veterinary science. The Congress will take place between 6th and 8th March in Hall 2 at Feria de Madrid write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Exhibition News :: home page |
