| Wasser Once Again The Main Meeting Place Of The Water Industry From 30 March to 3 April WASSER BERLIN will once again be the main meeting place of the national and international water industry. Some 700 exhibitors from Germany and abroad will be putting their latest products, technologies and services on display, a 25 per cent increase over numbers at the previous event in 2006. Foreign exhibitors from 26 countries will account for around 23 per cent. As a result this is the first time that Halls 1 to 6 at WASSER BERLIN, covering 49,000 square metres, are completely booked up. Visitor numbers are set to increase too. Attendance in 2006 was 26,000, and this year Messe Berlin expects a figure of 30,000. According to the organisers, the reasons for this positive trend are the following: water supply and disposal systems are becoming increasingly important, a serious demand for modernisation exists in parts of various countries, and the Berlin fair has systematically developed its content and infrastructure. There will be numerous innovations at the coming event, among them the inclusion of geofora, the trade fair for drilling technology, well construction and geothermics, a Vocational Training and Advanced Training Day, and the nomination of a partner country. At Europe's leading trade fair for the water industry Bulgaria will be making use of this opportunity to host a large combined stand. Parallel with the fair an extensive programme of congress events will also be taking place. In the course of more than 100 sessions some 350 speakers will deliver papers on current topics and developments, for instance at wat, the specialist water conference of the DVGW and BDEW, which after 2006 is again taking place at WASSER BERLIN. With some 700 specialists and executives in attendance it represents the main annual event of the German water industry. From 30 March to 3 April the Associations of the German Water Industry, Wastewater and Waste (DWA) will be holding the International Water Industry Symposium. At the conference entitled "Advanced oxidation processes for water and wastewater treatment" experts will be reporting on new developments in wastewater treatment. WASsERLEBEN, an interactive show for visitors, addresses the wider public and schoolchildren in particular. In an area covering 6,000 square metres in Hall 2.1, seven schools from Berlin and Brandenburg, as well as more than 20 institutions and organisations from science, will be hosting easy-to-follow presentations and activities on water-related topics. "Once again we have succeeded in putting together an attractive package which has met with positive reactions from exhibitors", said Cornelia Wolff von der Sahl, the project manager in charge at Messe Berlin. "Trade visitors have already shown great interest in the run up to the fair. The focus this year is on the challenges for pipeline construction, geothermics, seawater desalination and oxidation in drinking water treatment procedures. The stage is set for five days focusing on the topic of water, and they promise to be a success." write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Exhibition News :: home page |
