The Alternative Fuels & Vehicles Conference + Expo 2009

The Alternative Fuels & Vehicles Conference + Expo 2009 (AF&V 2009) will be held in Orlando, FL, April 19‐22, 2009. Details about the national Conference, presented by Alternative Fuel Vehicle Institute (AFVI), are now available on the AFVi website. This is the only event held in North America that attracts 2, 000 fleet decision‐makers and industry experts to accelerate the commercial adoption of alternative fuels, vehicles, and advanced transportation technologies. It will be held at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort.

With unusual spikes in oil prices, growing concern about stable supply, and mounting international pressures tied to climate change, the market for alternative fuels, vehicles and advanced technologies has taken off. AF&V 2009 presents the most influential people in the industry to showcase available products and future directions for the rapidly expanding market. In addition to fleet and vehicle purchasing decision‐makers, the Conference is of interest to professionals involved with policy and regulation, process and technology, research and development, engineering, environmental concerns and future fuels and technologies.

"During the summer of 2008, economics catapulted the alternative fuels and vehicles market into the international spotlight, " said Annalloyd Thomason, Executive Director of AFVi. "Fleets are looking for new transportation solutions in unprecedented numbers and they'll all be available in one place in a few short months."

Early highlights of the 2009 Conference include:
T. Boone Pickens to Keynote:
T. Boone Pickens has gained international acclaim for his energy investment savvy, most recently as the founder and chairman of BP Capital Management. In the past few months he's dominated the national scene with his call for ending U.S. dependence on foreign oil through what he calls The Pickens Plan. Mr.
Pickens will be joined by Andrew Littlefair, President and CEO of Clean Energy Fuels in kicking off the opening session of the conference.

Comprehensive Program:
More than 200 experts will make presentations on nonpetroleum options including natural gas, ethanol, biodiesel, propane, electricity, and hydrogen, and the vehicles they power. Conversions, infrastructure, plug‐in hybrids, funding and incentives and port applications are all covered. Public and private fleets hear the latest about delivery, after market solutions, buses, refuse and taxis.

Expo Marketplace:
The Expo Marketplace includes major auto manufacturers, technology developers, industrial, heavy‐duty and bus manufacturers, engine manufacturers, component suppliers and developers, fuel suppliers, government agencies, universities, and environmental and industry associations.
