The EDF Energy Ideal Home Show 2009

The EDF Energy Ideal Home Show 2009 is set to be the best yet. The revitalised show will be bursting full of innovative ideas for the homeowners of today and tomorrow. Reflecting the issues affecting the current generation of home owners and renters, the EDF Energy Ideal Home Show will offer effective solutions to inspire visitors to learn to make the most of the homes they're in, reduce their cost of living and offer simple, creative ways to cut their carbon footprint. Given the current economic environment, the EDF Energy Ideal Home Show will illustrate how you can fall in love with your home again instead of having to make an expensive move, perhaps to cope with a change in family circumstances.

From a structural make-over to simply clearing out the clutter and discovering spaces you never knew were there, a plethora of style ideas and advice will be available on how to make your 'now' home your Ideal Home.

'Ideal Home Economics' is a theme which will run across many of the show's exhibits and is geared towards showing you how to adapt to the economic downturn but not compromise on the quality of your life. Money saving advice from a host of experts covering everything from mortgages to broadband will offer simple solutions that will make all the difference to weekly household budgets. Even the price of tickets to the show can be recouped with vouchers offering money off drinks and meals at the show.

With EDF Energy leading the way on sustainability initiatives, it's little wonder that this is a key theme of the 2009 show. The EDF Energy Ideal Home Show will provide practical solutions to demonstrate how you can save energy on a day-to-day basis and work towards a more sustainable future. Expert advice and inspiring ideas will help eradicate the eco guilt and help you live your life leaving less of a carbon footprint.

Exhibitors at this year's show will range from big brand household names, to little known entrepreneurs and design students competing for the 'Innovation Nation' prizes sponsored by the show. One thing they all have in common is that they will be bringing the latest product ideas in home and garden to 'show and sell' at Britain's largest and longest established home show. The EDF Energy Ideal Home Show 2009 will be an interactive experience where visitors can not only get to touch and feel the latest products, but get face to face advice on issues from mortgages to meringues.

Demonstrations will abound, especially in the traditional Celebrity Chef Kitchen Theatre and the (new for 2009) Smarter Living Showcase—a spectacular forum for the very latest thinking in household goods. With the show's overall theme this year being based on making the most of the home you live in rather than going to all the expense of moving, the two show homes will demonstrate how even the drabbest 1960's house can be given a makeover that turns it into the home of your dreams.

The EDF Energy Ideal Home Show 2009 will run from 20th March – 13th April 2009 at Earls Court London. New for 2009, opening hours will be from 11am – 9pm on weekdays and 10am – 6pm at the weekend. To keep in line with the money saving objectives of the show, ticket prices will stay the same for the third year running, costing £14 on weekdays and £16 on weekends. For locals and commuters who want to make the most of the extended evening programming and events, a reduced ticket price of £5 will be available after 5pm on any day of the week.
