Converging World 2008

Converging World 2008, the 6th International Exhibition & Seminar held at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata from 1-3 February 2008 got an overwhelming response. Organised by Zeal Broadband Solutions in association with The Times of India, the event turned out to be a super success. The exhibition cum seminar witnessed a large number of trade visitors from Orissa, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Nagaland, Madhyapradesh & Pondichery. The event also attracted the visitors from Andaman & Nicobar islands, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and also from other countries like Srilanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nigeria, Korea, USA, China etc.

Dr. Debesh Das, Honorable Minister of Information Technology, Government of West Bengal inaugurated the 3day event. In his inaugural speech, he said, he strongly feels that there will be only one converged device of voice, data & video. The user will use a single device for Televisoon, Mobile & Computer. He also said he was happy visiting the Show in 2007, he's happy this year and he'll be gladly accept the invitation whenever the Organiser organizes these kind of Exhibitions. Shri Subhas Chakraborty, Honorable Minister of Transport, Sports and Youth Services, Government of West Bengal also graced the event by visiting the show.

For the 1st time in Kolkata Live Public Demonstration of latest technologies like Online gaming, IPTV, Broadband, Wireless technologies, Digital Cable TV, CAS, CCTV, Office automation, Consumer Electronics, Mobiles, Mobile TV, Studio and broadcasting, Security and surveillance, Laptops & computers and much more were demonstrated live at the venue. More than 30, 000 visitors thronged the show in the three days and around exhibitors and participants were from all across the globe showcased their product and services in the International Event.

The main objective of this three day event was to bring forth the best in key technologies and applications to meet the current and future needs of Telecom & Broadband Solutions, Total Broadcasting Solutions, Networking Technologies, Information Technology, Total Security solutions and Consumer Electronics.

Led by visionary industry leaders the seminar was held on at The Park Hotel on 2nd February. The seminar topics are: Growth of Broadband, The future of Home Entertainment : Convergence of Consumer Electronics, PCs & Mobile, Security & Surveillance in today's scenario, Technology strategies for 3G and beyond, Role of Wimax in Broadband & Telecom, Next Generation Networks, Migrating to the IPTV future Moving Towards a Wireless World, Future of DTH in India, Electronic Media in Global Scenario, Global Warming : Renewable Power Solutions., Encryption System.
