| EWI Live! External wall insulation at Ecobuild From Weber and new for 2009, EWI Live! will be a continuous, real-time demonstration of render-applied external wall insulation systems that can be used to thermally improve existing housing stock, as well as help new construction projects meet targets for Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM. Visitors to Ecobuild will be able to see the application of different systems to a working area giving and to see up-close how these systems are fixed and finished, including robust detailing around doors and windows. A variety of systems will be applied including the new generation one-coat, through-coloured weber.therm XP system which reduces application and scaffold time significantly. Brick-slip and render-brick systems will also be on show and expert advisors will be on hand to provide further assistance throughout. These external wall insulation systems are used extensively on social housing projects including non-traditional solid wall 'hard-to-treat' properties, and many community schemes have been uplifted by the new exterior facades applied in this way. Equally applicable in new-build projects - residential, education, healthcare, leisure projects - external wall insulation systems developers to construct using both traditional masonry or fast-track techniques such as lightweight steel frame.
