| Prolight + Sound 2009 in Frankfurt am Main The international Prolight + Sound trade fair will present products and services from the fields of event and communication technology, audio-visual production and entertainment from 1 to 4 April 2009. In the 15 years since it was launched, Prolight + Sound has grown continuously into the world's leading trade fair for the sector and for four days every year is the meeting place for exhibitors, trade visitors, dealers and professional users. The high degree of internationality and the extensive range of products and services to be seen are important factors contributing to the success of Prolight + Sound. Additionally, for the fourth year running, the Prolight + Sound Media Systems trade fair will spotlight media technology and systems integration exhibitors. In 2009, this segment will be reinforced and its image boosted by a variety of measures and activities. The high degree of internationality and decision-making authority of visitors to Prolight + Sound guarantee the success of the fair. Trade visitors, who include event-hall operators, planners, dealers, sound experts, lighting designers, stage designers, studio engineers, event-service providers and stand-construction companies, attend the fair to find out about the latest technical developments, products and services. The range of exhibits on show is split into a variety of product groups: audio systems, lighting systems, communication technology, theatre and stage equipment, media technology, image communication and systems integration. Visitors will find the sound section in Halls 4.1 and 8.0. Exhibitors from the light segment present their products in Hall 8.0 (show and stage lighting, design and installation, laser and effects) and Hall 9.0 (theatre, studio and stage lighting). Also to be found in Hall 9.0 are suppliers from the stage product section (stage technology and truss systems). The Prolight + Sound Media Systems trade exhibition will be held as part of Prolight + Sound for the third fourth time. In the Prolight + Sound exhibition halls, exhibitors present their products from the media technology, systems integration and communication technology segments. The products and services in this field are used at fairs, events and live shows, as well as in the building-services and building automation fields. Thanks to the different disciplines that come together in projects such as these, compatibility, planning and implementation are important prerequisites for success. Besides the integration of media and the compatibility of technical systems, hardware and software, greater emphasis is now being given to the content of display surfaces, screens and LED panels. Media-service providers who produce this content and tailor it to the individual circumstances of the media technology and the project are also represented at Prolight + Sound Media Systems. The Media Systems Congress is part of Prolight + Sound Media Systems. On the Conference Level of Hall 8.1, speakers go into detail about new products, developments and the legal background to media technology and systems integration. In 2009, the Congress will be supplemented by a Manufacturer's Forum where exhibitors can present their products and solutions. Additionally, the International Loudspeaker Association (ALMA) will use the congress to inform visitors about the latest developments in the field of loudspeaker technology. With around 50 lectures, the Media Systems Congress is the biggest information event at the fair. It is open to all Prolight + Sound visitors and is aimed, in particular, at planners, system integrators and architects. On the outdoor areas, visitors can see practical demonstrations of equipment at the Pro Stage and the Concert Sound Area. The Pro Stage is the ideal vision of a festival stage showing all important aspects of an open-air stage from stage construction, the rigging, lighting systems and a mobile public-address system to safety during the construction phase and when operating a stage of this kind. Additionally, the Pro Stage is the venue for seminars, workshops, product presentations and concerts. The Concert Sound Area gives exhibitors of large-scale PA systems the chance to demonstrate their products to visitors under realistic conditions. In 2009, the Pro Lounge will once again be located in Galleria 1 and provide the setting for the International Reception and the Prolight + Sound award ceremonies, which include two of the sector's most important honours : 'Opus – German Stage Prize' – and 'Sinus – Systems Integration Award'. Another part of the Galleria will be given over to the area for training, associations and institutes, and the Job Bourse. Here, visitors will find educational and training institutes. The Prolight + Sound forum with lectures, seminars and workshops will be located in Room 'Dialogue', Hall 9.2. Together with the integrated trade fair, Prolight + Sound Media Systems, Prolight + Sound in Frankfurt am Main is the biggest international trade show for the audio, lighting, event and communication technology sectors worldwide.
