Visualization and Storytelling Conference

As part of the VFX and VISUALIZATION seminar, the Visualization and Storytelling conference offers a totally unique program geared primarily for architects and urban planners, as well as other visualization professionals interested in significantly increasing their films' impact.

In two hours, you'll discover the seven essential skills for storytelling: Precisely identify your target Shape your message Emotionally involve the viewer Design an engaging scenario Craft an atmosphere that creates emotion Make use of music and sound, elements as powerful as images Understand the power of editing

Architectural visualization company Kreaction, winner of the 2008 IMAGINA Awards for Best 3D Simulation, gamely agreed to entrust two of its projects to Media & Entertainment professionals. The goal: to find out how such cooperation could enhance an already high quality project.

Brendan Fraser, whose company The Picture Production Company specializes in the creation of film trailers, was given the mission to take to the next level a film already completed by Kreaction while using the same original images. He will show us how a project can be transformed through re-scripting, editing and music, an amazing metamorphosis.

The second part of the conference features the unusual meeting of a visualization studio with a production company and a director. Benoit Guerville from Wide and Alexis Guery from Kreaction will share with you how they designed and implemented a project that steps beyond the usual films designed for property development. You will find out the production strategies involved in this kind of collaboration. But you will also learn how to construct a distinctive atmosphere, a unique scenario, and images and music that support the technical quality of your visualization images while directly impacting on the viewer's emotions and desire.

This conference will show you that despite the constraints and cultural differences that exist between the fields of cinema and visualization, extremely rewarding collaborations are possible. You'll emerge from this conference with very specific knowledge that you'll be able to put to use on your next projects. You'll also get a better understanding of the opportunities presented by a potential collaboration with film rofessionals.
