| Back at BAU – Lifts and escalators In cooperation with the VDMA, BAU 2009 will be featuring for the second time a special exhibition on the subject of lifts and escalators. Leading manufacturers in this segment will be displaying their innovations in a part of Hall C1. Architects and planners are interested in concepts on how lifts and escalators can be integrated into large building complexes, in particular for renovation and modernisation projects. The members of the trade association of lift and escalator manufacturers, affiliated in the VDMA (Germany´s engineering federation), are responding to this need by putting on a display of solutions at BAU 2009. The companies taking part in this special display will be offering high-specification lift and escalator technology not only for new builds, but also for renovation and modernisation work. These solutions meet in exemplary fashion both the safety requirements of the operators and the design standards of the architects and planners. The manufacturers of lifts, escalators and associated components see BAU as the number one platform for presenting their expertise in design and technology to a wide trade audience. Their trade association in the VDMA is therefore highly interested in BAU as an international trade fair that is both an attraction for architects and planners and features modern materials such as are shown in Hall C1. At this fair the lift manufacturers can meet up with their key target groups and receive valuable feedback that they can use in the design of their products for the future. The trade association of lift and escalator manufacturers affiliated in the VDMA is the conceptual sponsor behind the special exhibition of lifts and escalators at BAU 2009. The member companies of the VDMA that will be showcasing their technical and design expertise here. Companies such as Schmitt und Sohn, OSMA, Meiller, Hiro-Lift, Eggert, Control Techniques und D& H Mechatronics, BTR, Geda Dechenreiter, Kleemann and Vestner will be exhibiting at BAU 2009. The trade association of lift and escalator manufacturers affiliated in the VDMA (VDMA Fachverband Aufzüge und Fahrtreppen) is an interest group and forum for the German lift, escalator and components industry.
