Kbbreview Industry Awards Extends Entry Deadline

The deadline for entries in the kbbreview Industry Awards has been extended to midday on January 6 2009 due to popular demand from retailers and designers looking to enter. The unprecedented move is made possible as the 2009 awards are in May, compared to March this year. The kbbreview Industry Awards is in its 15th year and is open to all kitchen and bathroom retailers and designers, as well as manufacturers and contract designers. It is completely free to enter. The 2009 awards will be held on May 11 at ExCeL London alongside the kbbreview EXPO trade show. Sponsors include Ideal Standard, Neff, Roca, and Poggenpohl.

Categories include awards for best showroom, best retailer, and kitchen and bathroom design across varying budgets. Manufacturers can enter the Environmental Innovation Awards which aim to find the best in practical product development for green concerns such as water saving or energy use.

"It was clear from the amount of calls and emails we've had that many people wanted us to extend the deadline past Christmas to make sure they could get in the best entries possible, " said kbbreview editor Andrew Davies. "We've had to juggle things around a bit in terms of the judging days but we've managed to give everyone another few weeks - but that really is the last possible date!"

Award organisers have also announced that Kohler Mira has joined the line-up of sponsors by putting their name to the Designer Award for Bathrooms - project cost up to £15k category.

Event manager Mark Pearson said: "It's great to have Mira on board for what promises to be the biggest event in the industry calendar. I would advise anyone who hasn't booked a table yet to get in quick because this year's event had sold out with three months still to go."

The 2009 Awards will take place on the second night of the kbbreview EXPO (10 – 12 May 2009, ExCel, London). With six months still remaining before doors open on May 10 2009, the consistent quality of visitor base that EXPO has traditionally enjoyed is already evident in the registration figures this time around. Alongside some of the key names within the industry, delegates from a broad spectrum - 10% interior designers and another 10% architects, developers and specifiers – are so far set to attend.

Latest exhibitors added to the line-up at the show include Bosch Power Tools, Compac UK and Reginox. They join a healthy list of names involved with EXPO and those supporters of the Awards - Easy Quote, Electrolux, Gaggenau, Hansgrohe, Hotpoint, Ideal Standard, Jacuzzi, Just Trays, Lucite, Mira, Neff, Planit Fusion, Poggenpohl, Qualceram Shires, Roca, Twyford and Whirlpool.
