| Internationality Of The World’s No. 1 In The Green Sector Is Further The internationality of the IPM ESSEN, international trade fair for plants, horticultural technology, floristics and sales promotion, is steadily increasing. When from 29th January to 1st February around 1400 exhibitors present their latest products and services at the 27th world fair for the green sector the proportion of foreign exhibitors will be higher than ever before. The joint participations from Great Britain, Belgium, France, Italy, Japan and Hungary have grown particularly. Around 60 000 trade visitors expected at the end of January will be given an all-round view of the latest new developments in international horticulture and important impulses for making decisions on investments. The Federal Ministry of Nutrition, Agriculture and Consumer Protection has taken on the patronage of the fair. The Danish EU commissioner for agriculture and rural development, Mariann Fischer Boel, will be making a welcoming speech at the official opening ceremony and then presenting the Floradania Award in the "Denmark Hall". An important meeting point at IPM ESSEN is the Green City / Hall 1 A. Together you can find here associations and institutions from the green sector. This is where the visitor can find the three I's: Information, Inspiration and Impulses. In the Horticultural Information Centre the Zentralverband Gartenbau e.V. (ZVG - Central Horticultural Association), the Landesverband Gartenbau Rheinland e.V. (Regional Horticultural Association Rhineland) and the Landesverband Gartenbau Westfalen-Lippe e.V. (Regional Horticultural Association Westfalen-Lippe) will be presenting their considerable range of services. Focal points are the pest management show and the present campaign Viva Balkonia. Apart from professional associations institutions from consultation, science and research, as well as education and training will be present in the horticultural information centre, showing visitors their latest results. The IPM Innovation Display Window, which was organised for the first time at the IPM 2008 by the Messe Essen and the ZVG, attracted a lot of attention and is to become a firm highlight at the fair. Exhibitors can register their new breeds for the competition up until the 10th December. A competent jury will judge the entries on the day before the official opening. Visitors can gain information on the new breeds throughout the fair in the IPM Innovation Display Window. Visitors can experience four days of top floristry in the FDF-Florist-Event Centre in the Green City. At the same time the dynamics and innovative power of the floristry sector can be seen in the demonstrations, stage events and award ceremonies in the comprehensive programme in the FDF-Florist-Event Centre. Under the main heading "go green" the four flowery inspiration themes 2009 for the European market will be presented. Under the supervision of the master florist Manfred Hoffmann the FDF-Trend Team has transformed these international trend themes into sales and consumer orientated floristry. With "Spring Sensations" the three winners of the "Golden Rose" give a rousing introduction to the coming season. The centre of attention of the stage show Fairytale Flowers is top European floristry, presented among others by the Danish star florist Nicolai Bergmann and by Nadine Weckhardt, European Champion of Floral Design 2007. The g&v Creative Centre shows a new exhibitor concept under the motto "Forum of Ideas". The presentation areas are of great variety and creativity and show visitors how they can best present their goods. BLOOM's presents itself in the Green City / Hall 1A under the heading "Consumer wishes and life worlds". Contemporary and new presentation and assortment ideas in the green market will be presented on over 500 square metres.
