| One Spectacular Night. One Place. America’s Carpets Awards In the one market where the Area Rug business does business, in one spectacular evening, the industry's top importers and manufacturers celebrate the triumph of design achievement in the most anticipated event of the year: The America's Magnificent Carpets Awards-exclusively sponsored by Architectural Digest. The 2009 Awards-staged Saturday, January 10, at the Marriott Marquis Atrium Ballroom-recognizes America's newest area rug introductions in one night of elegance, excellence and excitement, complete with a high-energy musical performance featuring internationally acclaimed instrumentalists, preceded by a lavish cocktail reception. Then, in the grand finale, AmericasMart and Architectural Digest take to the stage to honor the world's most innovative area rugs designers and manufactures in various price ranges within the following categories: Handmade; Power-loomed; Antique; Contemporary. Additionally, one unique area rug will receive the Buyer's Choice award—chosen by retailers from around the globe who will have the opportunity to select their favorite rug. A team of independent judges will hand-select the category winners from MOI: The Museum of Introductions—the area rug industry's exclusive showing of new product introductions in a sophisticated museum setting in one complete presentation. The MOI Gallery will be open Friday, January 9 through Sunday, January 11 in Building 1, Floor 4, 4-B-1.
