"The Spirit Of Celebration": Christmasworld

St. Valentine's Day and Halloween – two festivals that are particularly popular in the USA. At Christmasworld in Frankfurt am Main from 30 January to 3 February 2009, a special presentation entitled 'The spirit of celebration' will show which creative decorations can best generate a suitable atmosphere. Every year, the world's leading trade fair for festive decorations – The World of Event Decoration – intro-duces a different nation and the festivities typical of that country. "In this way, we emphasise the international character of the fair and illustrate the variety of traditions and customs in existence around the world", explains Jutta Baumann, Director of Christmasworld.

Trade visitors to the appropriately decorated Galleria between Halls 8 and 9 can expect to find a variety of new creative ideas for St. Valentine's Day and Halloween. Interesting activities around the two occasions are in planning. A particular highlight will result from the collabo-ration between Christmasworld and the Bloom's publishing company.

Every day of the fair, experts from Bloom's Magazine will create an individual table decoration – from a tastefully decorated candle-light dinner for St. Valentine's Day, via an autumn dining table, to a Halloween party. Naturally, visitors will not only be able to watch over their shoulders but also ask questions. Moreover, the finished decora-tions will give visitors inspiration for the product presentations in their own shops.

Additionally, a pumpkin carver will demonstrate his skills in the Galleria. Striking patterns, spine-chilling faces and surprising motifs will provide a host of ideas for making presentations using this traditional Halloween fruit.

At the Exhibitor Evening, Jack-o'-lanterns, rattling chains and dark bats will be in stark contrast to the hearts and romantic floral ar-rangements of St. Valentine's Day. The traditional party for exhibitors and visitors on the evening of the first day of the fair will also be dis-tinguished by dishes and beverages, as well as music and decoration, typical of the two events.

At Christmasworld 2008, the spotlight was on two Swedish festivals, 'Midsommar' and 'Sankta Lucia'. The year before, the focus was on the Spanish spring festival, 'Las Fallas' from Valencia.
