| The Import Shop Berlin 2008 The Egyptian ambassador: we want to present our country's diversity at the Import Shop – Egyptian handicrafts and daily dancing events in Hall 9 – Berlin's most exotic shopping mall opens on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds from 12 to 16 November. Egypt, this year's partner country at the Import Shop Berlin, is a nation whose cultural traditions are among the oldest in the world. With a history that stretches back 7,000 years, Egypt will be represented in the fair halls on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds with high-quality handicrafts, textiles, leather goods, dancing events and tourism advertising. "The Import Shop lets us present our unique products to the German public and consumer ", is how Egypt's ambassador to Germany Ramzy Ezzeldin Ramzy describes his expectations. "Every year two million Germans travel to Egypt and admire our products. However, it is often not possible to bring the products back to Germany. At the Import Shop consumers can buy products directly in Berlin. Naturally we are also hoping to find business partners". He noted that Egypt was a very diverse country and hoped visitors to the Import Shop would find out enough to whet their appetites for a trip, adding: "Germans have always welcomed other cultures and influences, something they have in common with Egyptians". This year's partner country will be represented at a joint stand in Hall 9 as well as in other halls. In addition to handicrafts produced in a variety of ways the companies at the fair will be mainly exhibiting textiles and high-quality leather goods. Twice daily visitors can enjoy dancing events accompanied by oriental music and find out things worth knowing about modern-day Egypt on the stand. On 12 November the Import Shop Berlin 2008 will be opening its doors for five days. For over 47 years this event has been inviting visitors to take part in a fascinating shopping tour of products from around the globe. Every year, many thousands of devotees of quality handicrafts come to the trade fair halls on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds, where products from all over the world await them. Exhibits range from knitwear from South America, quality felt work from Central Asia, to ethnic jewellery from Africa and saris from Asia. Natural products and natural cosmetics are on offer, as are wooden toys from around the globe. More than 530 exhibitors from over 62 countries will be in Berlin. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Exhibition News :: home page |
